• Ty France homers as Mariners outlast Royals
Ty France went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer in a victory over the Royals on Monday.

Advice: France turned a 4-2 cushion into a 6-2 lead with a two-run shot in the eighth inning. The infielder hasn’t hit for much power in 2024, but that does give him three homers and 13 RBI. France has been known to go on hot streaks, but fantasy managers just can’t bet on enough consistent production to add him to a lineup. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:17 pm

  • Luke Raley homers, plates three in win over Royals
Luke Raley homered, drove in three runs and stole a base Monday in a 6-2 win over the Royals.

Advice: Raley has been excellent in May, and this was easily his best game in a Mariner uniform. The outfielder scored a two-run homer off Brady Singer in the second inning, and he drove in another with an RBI single in the third. The outfielder also stole his second base of the season, and he’s athletic enough to project more if he can continue to get on base. At this point, it sure seems likely that Raley is going to see much more consistent playing time than he did to begin the year. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:17 pm

  • Manzardo hitless again Monday
Kyle Manzardo went 0-for-2 with a walk in the Guardians’ win over the Rangers on Monday.

Advice: Manzardo is now 3-for-19 (.158) with one walk, one double and eight strikeouts to start his big league career. With a left-handed reliever on the mound in the eighth inning, Manzardo was pinch hit for. He should continue to see starts against right-handed pitchers for the rest of the week, but at some point he needs to start stringing some hits together. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:00 pm
  • Exits starting nine
Cooper is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Rays, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.

Advice: Cooper enjoyed a productive weekend in the Red Sox's series victory over the Nationals, starting in two of the three contests while producing three hits (two doubles, one single), one run and one RBI over six at-bats. He'll cede first base to Dominic Smith on Monday, but Cooper still looks to be locked into a near-everyday role for the Red Sox until Triston Casas (rib) returns from the injured list. • Two hits in win
Cooper started at first base and went 2-for-3 with a double in Sunday's 3-2 win over the Nationals.

Advice: Cooper recorded his first multi-hit game since being acquired by the Red Sox on April 28. He was eventually pinch hit for by the left-handed hitting Dominic Smith in the eighth inning against a righty reliever with a runner in scoring position. With Triston Casas (oblique) on the 60-day injured list, first base has become a rotation involving Cooper, Smith and Romy Gonzalez. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:43 am
  • Drives in three
Candelario went 1-for-5 with a double and three RBI in Sunday's 6-5 extra-inning loss to the Giants.

Advice: Candelario nearly missed a grand slam in the first inning and settled for a three-run double. This was just his second multi-RBI effort in 34 games this season. He's still battling a season-opening slump, but Candelario's bat has shown life of late. He's hit safely in four of the last five games, going 7-for-20 with a home run, two doubles and five RBI. Perhaps this recent five-game run will prompt a move up the batting order -- Candelario opened as the team's cleanup hitter but has since moved to the lower-third. The Reds are last in MLB with a .556 OPS out of the cleanup spot. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:59 am
  • Goes deep in loss
Ford went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Sunday's 6-5 extra-inning loss to the Giants.

Advice: Ford's homer tied the game at 5-5 in the eighth inning. The 31-year-old has gone 2-for-15 with a walk and two strikeouts over five games since he re-signed with the Reds on May 8 following his release from the organization May 4. Ford slashed .228/.323/.475 with 16 homers and 34 RBI over 84 contests with the Mariners last season, so he may have some power upside if he can claim a regular role. Rotowire.com Sunday, 7:31 pm
  • Jeimer Candelario delivers three-run double
Jeimer Candelario just missed a grand slam on Sunday, settling for a three-run double against the Giants.

Advice: Candelario delivered the blast that left Jung Hoo Lee with an injured shoulder after he crashed into the wall. Statcast said it would have been a homer in 18 ballparks. Rotoworld Sunday, 4:56 pm
  • Not starting Sunday
Brown is not in the starting lineup for Sunday's game against the Mariners.

Advice: Brown will sit for a second straight game despite Seattle sending right-hander Luis Castillo to the hill for Sunday's series finale. Since May 1, Brown has gone 2-for-18 with one home run and three RBI. Brent Rooker will start in left field Sunday, while J.D. Davis serves as the designated hitter. Rotowire.com Sunday, 11:59 am
