The 28-year-old outfielder extended his hit streak to eight games -- he's gone 10-for-29 (.345) in that span.       Lane Thomas went 2-for-5 on Friday with a home run, three RBI, and a run scored in a win over the Marlins.

      Advice: Thomas has once again been a dynamo this season in the heart of the Nationals’ order. The home run was his fifth in just 40 games - a 20 homer pace - to go along with 16 stolen bases.       Gerrit Cole delivered a dominant performance in his final minor league rehab start at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Friday night, racking up 10 strikeouts over his 4 1/3 innings of work.

      Advice: Cole surrendered just an unearned run on two hits on the night and didn’t walk a batter. He threw 70 pitches — 46 of them for strikes. The Yankees plan to meet in the next day or two to discuss Cole’s status, but it would be shocking at this point if his next start didn’t come in pinstripes. Rotoworld Friday, 5:27 pm

      Tucker (lower leg) won't play in Saturday's game against Detroit and has yet to participate in on-field activities, Julia Morales of AT&T SportsNet Southwest reports.

      Advice: There was initially optimism that Tucker would be able to return from the IL when first eligible Friday, but that doesn't seem imminent.       Astros’ manager Joe Espada told reporters on Friday that Kyle Tucker (shin) will not be ready to be activated from the injured list on Saturday.

      Advice: While he noted that Tucker is “moving in the right direction” he also admitted that Tucker is not doing baseball activities yet. While a return at some point over the weekend hasn’t been ruled out yet, it seems unlikely if he’s not doing any baseball activities yet.       Yainer Diaz (finger) returned to the Astros’ starting lineup for Friday’s series opener against the Tigers.

      Advice: It’s the first time that the 25-year-old backstop has been in the lineup since he took a foul tip off of his finger during Sunday’s game.       Gerrit Cole (elbow) will make a rehab start with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Friday.

      Advice: Correa gave the Twins their first lead with a run-scoring single in the third inning and capped the scoring in the contest with a two-run homer to left field in the seventh. The veteran shortstop finished with his sixth multi-hit performance over his past eight contests, and he's slashing a jaw-dropping .545/.568/.758 with two homers, eight runs and nine RBI over that span.
