    • Undergoes MRI on Saturday
      Kirby underwent an MRI on his right knee Saturday after being removed early from his start against the Astros on Friday, but the results are still pending, MLB.com reports.

      Advice: Kirby's night ended Friday after a relatively modest 88 pitches due to the lingering right knee issue, which he conceded after the game he'd been dealing with "for the last couple of weeks." The general feeling after the game was he would be able to make his next start without issue, but manager Scott Servais said Kirby was sent for an MRI "just to make sure we're treating it the right way." Servais confirmed Kirby's arm felt good and added that he still expected the talented right-hander to make his next scheduled start, which is slated for Wednesday at Target Field against the Twins.       Cristian Javier (neck) made his first minor league rehab start at Double-A Corpus Christi on Saturday, giving up three runs on three hits over 3 1/3 innings of work.

      Advice: The 27-year-old right-hander walked a pair while striking out three batters in the contest. He threw 68 pitches in the game, 39 of those for strikes. There had been speculation that he would require just one rehab start before returning to the Astros’ rotation next week, we’ll see if that holds after how Saturday’s outing went.       Mariners’ manager Scott Servais told reporters on Saturday that right-hander George Kirby underwent a precautionary MRI on his right knee.

      Advice: Servais didn’t relay any results from that exam yet, but did note that he’s optimistic Kirby will be able to make his next start against the Twins on Wednesday in Minnesota. While it doesn’t sound like anything serious, the mere fact that he required an MRI has to be at least somewhat worrisome for fantasy managers.       Nico Hoerner went 2-for-4 with a home run and a stolen base in a 6-5 win over the Brewers.

      Advice: Hoerner put the Cubs on the board right away, taking Tobias Myers deep for a solo homer to lead off the first inning, his first homer of the season. He added a base hit to lead off the seventh, then stole second for his fifth steal of the season. The 26-year-old second baseman is heating up at the plate, with multiple hits in three of his last four games.       Advice: This was Cole's first bullpen session since he was shut down from throwing in mid-March, thus it was a significant milestone as the reigning AL Cy Young Award winner works his way back to the Yankees rotation. Per Goodman, Cole was "giddy" after throwing Saturday, so it appears the session went well.
