    • Julien, Kepler, Larnach, Kirilloff out Saturday vs. lefty
Edouard Julien, Max Kepler, Trevor Larnach and Alex Kirilloff are not in the lineup for Saturday’s game against the Astros.

Advice: No surprises here as Minnesota continues rotating their quartet of left-handed bats in and out of the lineup depending on matchups. It’ll be Carlos Santana, Manuel Margot, Kyle Farmer and Ryan Jeffers getting the nod to face Astros southpaw Framber Valdez. Rotoworld 10 minutes ago
    • Breather Saturday
Diaz is not in the starting lineup Saturday versus the Twins.

Advice: Diaz will get a day off after he went 0-for-3 in Friday's 6-1 loss to Minnesota. Victor Caratini will handle the catching duties with Framber Valdez on the mound, batting ninth Saturday. Rotowire.com 18 minutes ago

    • Breather versus left-hander
Julien is not in the starting lineup for Saturday's matchup with the Astros.

Advice: Julien will head to the bench as Minnesota takes on southpaw Framber Valdez on the mound Saturday. Kyle Farmer will draw the start at second base and bat seventh versus Houston. Rotowire.com 21 minutes ago
    • Edouard Julien goes 0-for-2, gets lifted
Edouard Julien was lifted for a pinch-hitter after going 0-for-2 against the Astros on Friday.

Advice: A demotion to Triple-A for Julien is very much a possibility as the countermove for when Royce Lewis rejoins the Twins. He’s still very likely Minnesota’s long-term second baseman, but he’s not currently getting the job done while hitting .205/.305/.367. Willi Castro could slide to second in his place. • Astros don’t provide update on Cristian Javier
Astros’ manager Joe Espada did not give an update on right-handers Cristian Javier and Jose Urquidy on Friday, aside from saying that he’s giving both pitchers space while they are awaiting second opinions.

Advice: If that’s not discouraging enough, Espada also refused to comment when asked if the pitchers’ UCL’s were intact. Lovely. The Astros should provide full updates on the status of both hurlers in the coming days once they get their second opinions, but it doesn’t sound good. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:16 pm

    • Earns seventh win
Rodon (7-2) picked up the win over the Angels on Thursday, allowing three runs on three hits and one walk over six-plus innings. He struck out five.

Advice: Rodon ran through the Angels' lineup for most of the night, surrendering one run over the first six frames while producing five 1-2-3 innings. However, the veteran lefty would run into trouble in the seventh after allowing the first three batters to reach, paving the way for Ian Hamilton to take over in relief. Rodon has won each of his last five starts, posting a 26:6 K:BB over that stretch. He's also logged quality starts in five straight outings. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:22 am

    • Two more steals in win
Thomas went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and a run scored in Thursday's win over Atlanta.

Advice: Thomas reached base and stole second in each of his first two trips to the plate while also coming around to score a run in the latter at-bat. The outfielder has been on a tear since returning from the injured list and is now batting .353 (6-for-17) through four games in May with three RBI, four stolen bases and four runs scored, swiping a pair of bags in back-to-back contests. • Carlos Rodón allows three over six in win over Angels
Carlos Rodón gave up three runs over six innings to pick up a win Thursday over the Angels.

Advice: Rodón allowed just one run over the first six innings, but a pair of runs were charged to him in the seventh to turn an excellent start into a solid if unspectacular effort. The southpaw struck out five and walked one, and he’s still the owner of a 3.09 effort for his troubles in 2024. Rodón will get another chance to pitch Wednesday against the Twins. • Lane Thomas swipes two bags in win over ATL
Lane Thomas stole two bases and scored a run in a victory over Atlanta on Thursday.

Advice: Thomas continues to be one of the better stolen-base threats in the sport, and it’s worth pointing out that his 15 swipes have come in just 26 games. The speed has been there for the 28-year-old. Now, about that .212/.278/.327 slash line. Those numbers should continue to get better, but in the meantime, he’s definitely helping fantasy managers in one category. Rotoworld Thursday, 7:00 pm
