    • Needs 'at least a few' rehab starts
      Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Tuesday that Cole (elbow) will require "at least a few" rehab starts before rejoining the major-league rotation, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports.

      Advice: Cole will make his first rehab start Tuesday with Double-A Somerset and is slated to throw 40-to-50 pitches in that outing. If you bake in a 15-to-20 pitch increase in subsequent rehab starts, the righty would presumably require, at minimum, two additional outings after Tuesday's appearance. That would mean Cole won't rejoin the Yankees at least until late June, and it's possible it will take longer, depending on how things go and how he feels.       Advice: Tucker will get the day off after fouling a ball off his right shin Monday night. While X-rays came back negative and manager Joe Espada said Tucker is "feeling better", the outfielder will continue to have his leg examined to ensure that he's merely dealing with a bruise.       Rengifo went 1-for-3 with a run and a stolen base in a 2-1 victory versus the Padres on Monday.

      Advice: Offense in the contest was scarce, so Rengifo's role in producing the Angels' first run was especially valuable. He singled with one out in the fourth inning and stole second base before eventually crossing the plate on a Willie Calhoun single. Rengifo missed some time in May due to an illness, but he hasn't slowed down since returning, slashing .313/.353/.484 with two homers, six RBI, 10 runs and four stolen bases in 16 contests.
