    • Fans six in fifth win
Houck (5-5) picked up the win Friday, allowing one run on three hits and two walks over seven innings in a 7-3 victory over the Tigers. He struck out six.

Advice: The 27-year-old right-hander generated 30 called or swinging strikes among his 95 pitches as he delivered his third straight quality start and 10th in 12 trips to the mound this season. Houck is having a breakout campaign, and he'll take a 1.85 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 75:15 K:BB through 78 innings into his next outing, which is scheduled to come on the road next week against the White Sox. • Pablo López strong for seven in beating Astros
Pablo López pitched seven innings of one-run ball Friday as the Twins downed the Astros 6-1.

Advice: López generated 17 missed swings tonight, 12 of them with his fastball. His peripherals would suggest that he’s had pretty awful luck this season, but he was in close to peak form tonight. The one run he allowed came on an Alex Bregman 348-foot homer that Statcast said was only a homer in four ballparks. Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:40 pm
    • Converts 12th save
Munoz allowed a hit and struck out two in a scoreless inning to earn the save in Friday's 5-4 win over the Angels.

Advice: Munoz's scoreless streak is up to six innings, and he allowed just one run over 13.1 innings in May while converting all seven of his save chances during the month. The closer is 12-for-13 in save chances this year. He's been hard to hit with a 1.42 ERA, 0.91 WHIP and 35:8 K:BB over 25.1 innings as the Mariners' top ninth-inning option. Munoz needs one more save to match his career high from last year. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:48 pm
    • Andrés Muñoz locks down 12th save of season
Andrés Muñoz fired a scoreless ninth with two strikeouts to pick up a save Friday against the Angels.

Advice: Muñoz needed just 15 pitches to get through the outing with 11 of them going for strikes. The right-hander has been absolutely dominant as of late with a 1.42 ERA and 12 saves for his troubles. To say he’s not in danger of giving up his closing gig is quite the understatement. • Returns to form in win
Lopez (5-5) earned the win in Friday's 6-1 victory over Houston, allowing one run on six hits and one walk over seven innings. He struck out nine.

Advice: Lopez appeared to be in the form that led him to a seventh place finish in the 2023 AL Cy Young race. The Minnesota right-hander generated an impressive 17 whiffs en route to his six punchouts while lowering his season ERA to 4.84 in 67 innings. The lone blemish on his evening was the 348-foot solo shot Alex Bregman hit into Houston's Crawford Boxes in the fourth inning. Lopez faces a difficult test in his next start -- he's lined up to face a formidable Yankees lineup in New York next week. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:36 pm
    • Solid in no-decision
Suarez didn't factor into the decision Friday against Tampa Bay, allowing one run on four hits and two walks over five innings. He struck out five.

Advice: Suarez allowed a lone run in the second inning before settling in and blanking the Rays over his final three frames, allowing just one additional hit. The 34-year-old Suarez has allowed just one run over nine innings in two starts since returning to Baltimore's rotation. Overall, he's 2-0 with a 1.57 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 29:10 K:BB across 34.1 innings this year. With John Means (elbow) and Tyler Wells (elbow) both out for the year, Suarez could be in for an extended look as a starter. He's currently in line for a road matchup with Toronto in his next outing. • Albert Suárez strikes out five in five innings
Albert Suárez allowed one earned run across five innings on Friday against the Rays. He allowed four hits, two walks, and struck out five in a no-decision.

Advice: Suárez was solid in this one, keeping the Rays at bay besides for a Richie Palacios double followed by a Ben Rortvedt RBI single in the second inning. Notably, Suárez showed off a true four-pitch mix for the first time this season throwing his fastball, cutter, changeup, and curveball at least 13% of the time. There is space in the Orioles’ rotation and Suárez successfully expanding his repertoire could help him hold a spot. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:27 pm
    • Tanner Houck dominates in victory over Tigers
Tanner Houck delivered a dominant performance in Friday night’s victory over the Tigers, allowing just one run on three hits over seven stellar innings.

Advice: The 27-year-old hurler racked up six strikeouts on the evening while issuing a pair of free passes. The lone tally against him came on an RBI single by Gio Urshela in the opening inning. After that, the Tigers never really threatened against him. Houck got 10 swings and misses on 95 pitches on the night, posting a CSW of 32 percent. Now 5-5 on the season, he’ll carry an impressive 1.85 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and a 75/15 K/BB ratio (78 innings) into Thursday’s matchup against the White Sox in Chicago. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:42 pm
    • Strikes out seven Friday
Assad didn't factor into the decision Friday against the Reds, allowing two runs on five hits and three walks over 5.1 innings. He struck out seven.

Advice: Both of the runs charged to Assad came in the fourth inning when the Reds strung together three straight singles. Still, it was a positive effort for Assad overall after he'd given up seven runs (six earned) over 9.2 innings in his previous two outings, though he now has seven or more strikeouts in three of his last four starts. Overall, the 26-year-old right-hander is 4-1 with a 2.27 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 61:26 K:BB through 63.1 innings this season. Assad's currently in line for a rematch with Cincinnati on the road in his next start. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:51 pm
