    • Nick Fortes goes 3-for-3, homers in win
Nick Fortes went 3-for-3 with a three-run homer and three runs scored against the Mets on Friday.

Advice: The home run was just Fortes’ second in what’s been a disastrous start to the season. He’s had some intriguing batted ball metrics in the past, but this was just his second barrel of the season. He’s hard to trust even in two-catcher formats. Rotoworld Today, 6:46 pm

    • Colton Cowser drives in two as Orioles crush M’s
Colton Cowser singled, doubled, walked and drove in a pair of runs on Friday night as the Orioles crushed the Mariners.

Advice: Cowser clubbed a two-run double off of Bryce Miller in the first inning, extending the Orioles’ early advantage to 4-0. With his two-hit attack, the 24-year-old outfielder is now hitting .263/.348/.509 with six homers, 22 RBI and three stolen bases over 40 games on the season. Rotoworld Today, 6:38 pm

    • Dylan Moore clubs solo homer in loss to Orioles
Dylan Moore clubbed his fourth home run of the season on Friday night, but it wasn’t enough to power the Mariners past the Orioles in Baltimore.

Advice: Moore led off the game by smacking the first pitch thrown by John Means for a double into left field. He then came around to score the game’s first run on an RBI single off the bat of Mitch Garver. The versatile 31-year-old then tattooed a 405-foot (104.3 mph EV) solo shot in the fifth inning that pulled the M’s to within three runs at 5-2. Moore finished the night 2-for-4 and is now hitting .221/.314/.433 to go with four homers, 14 RBI and six stolen bases through his first 35 games. Rotoworld Today, 6:38 pm

    • Brandon Marsh delivers RBI double in win over Nats
Brandon Marsh walked and delivered an RBI double on Friday night, helping to lead the Phillies to a 4-2 victory over the visiting Nationals.

Advice: Marsh drew a walk off of Jake Irvin to lead off the second inning and ultimately came around to score on a wild pitch. He then smacked a run-scoring double off of Irvin in the third inning that extended the Phillies’ advantage to 4-1. On the season, the 26-year-old outfielder is now hitting .248/.309/.429 with six homers, 23 RBI and seven stolen bases through his first 40 games. Rotoworld Today, 6:00 pm

    • Eddie Rosario smacks RBI double in loss Friday
Eddie Rosario went 1-for-4 with an RBI double on Friday night as the Nationals fell to the Phillies in Philadelphia.

Advice: The Nationals had nobody on base with two outs in the fifth inning, when C.J. Abrams and Rosario hit back-to-back doubles off of Zack Wheeler to produce a run and pull the Nats to within two runs at 4-2. That would be as close as they would get. While Rosario has been productive this season from a fantasy perspective — with five homers and six stolen bases — he is still hitting a pitiful .179/.248/.369 through 106 at-bats on the season. • Making first start of 2024
Luciano is starting at shortstop and batting ninth in Friday's game against the Rockies, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Advice: Luciano made his 2024 debut Tuesday against the Dodgers when he pinch hit for Mike Yastrzemski in the ninth inning. Luciano started the season with Triple-A Sacramento, posting a .266/.399/.344 line with one home run and 20 RBI over 158 plate appearances before being recalled by the Giants on May 14. The 22-year-old appeared in 14 games for San Francisco in 2023, going 9-for-39 with three doubles and a stolen base across 14 games. Rotowire.com Today, 5:00 pm
    • Day off Friday
Urshela isn't in the Tigers' lineup for Friday's game against Arizona, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

Advice: Urshela has gone 0-for-6 since returning from the injured list Tuesday, and he'll now get a chance to clear his head Friday. Matt Vierling will fill the open spot at third base and bat fifth. Rotowire.com Today, 4:20 pm

    • Officially promoted
The Dodgers recalled Vargas from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Friday.

Advice: Vargas has served as Oklahoma City's left fielder all season, slashing .302/.442/.590 with eight homers and 39 RBI across 181 plate appearances. The 24-year-old hasn't found the same success in the majors with a .640 OPS, but he could still draw starts in the outfield on days the Dodgers are matched up against a left-handed starter. James Outman was optioned to Triple-A in a corresponding move. Rotowire.com Today, 4:11 pm

    • Brandon Lowe (oblique) could return on Monday
Brandon Lowe (oblique) could be activated from the injured list and return to the Rays’ lineup on Monday.

Advice: The 29-year-old slugger will restart his minor league rehab assignment on Saturday and is set to play games on back-to-back days at Triple-A Durham. If all goes well with that, he’ll be cleared to rejoin the Rays for Monday’s series opener against the Red Sox. Lowe has been close to returning before, only to suffer a setback and require some extra time, so we’ll believe it when we see it. Rotoworld Today, 4:07 pm
