      Adley Rutschman went 3-for-4 with a solo homer on Saturday, leading the Orioles to a 2-1 victory over the Reds.

      Advice: Rutschman spearheaded Baltimore’s offense in a rare low-scoring showdown at hitter-friendly Great American Ball Park with his third three-hit effort of the season. He connected for a solo homer to left-center field -- his fifth round-tripper of the season -- off Reds southpaw Andrew Abbott in the fifth inning, which wound up being the difference in the contest.       Advice: Rutschman connected against left-hander Andrew Abbott in the fifth inning for his fifth homer of 2024, and it proved to be the winning run. With extra-base hits in each of his last three games, Rutschman is up to a .321/.361/.470 line through 32 games this season.       Advice: Renfroe has struggled to get his bat going -- he's 3-for-27 (.111) over his last 10 games. The outfielder has started to lose playing time to Adam Frazier, who was squeezed out of a full-time role at second base when Michael Massey returned from a back injury. Renfroe is slashing a poor .155/.228/.298 with three homers, 11 RBI, eight runs scored and three doubles over 92 plate appearances, so he'll need to put together better performances to continue playing regularly.       Manager Alex Cora said Friday that Yoshida will get a second opinion on his strained left thumb, Christopher Smith of The Springfield Republican reports.

      Advice: Cora previously said Thursday that Yoshida may need to undergo surgery on his thumb after straining it during Sunday's win over the Cubs, but the 30-year-old will wait to hear from another doctor before determining the best course of action.       Twins’ manager Rocco Baldelli told reporters on Friday that Royce Lewis (quad) has been progressing nicely in his recovery and has increased baseball activities in recent days.
