    • Royce Lewis (quad) plays 3B on Tuesday at AAA
Royce Lewis (quad) played seven innings at third base on Tuesday for Triple-A St. Paul.

Advice: Lewis went 0-for-3 at the dish and made his first appearance in the field since kicking off a minor league rehab assignment last week. The 24-year-old third baseman will presumably require at least a handful of additional tune-up contests to get back up to speed before returning to Minnesota. This was certainly a step in the right direction as he works his way back from a severe quad strain that sent him to the injured list back on Opening Day. Rotoworld Tuesday, 3:26 pm

    • Justin Turner on the bench again
Justin Turner is on the bench for Monday’s game against the White Sox.

Advice: Turner got a day off on Sunday, but he remains out of the lineup on Monday with Daniel Vogelbach starting at designated hitter again. The 39-year-old is slashing just .222/.301/.359 in 173 plate appearances in 2024 with four home runs and 18 RBI. It’s possible that the Blue Jays will look to get at-bats for other players in his place, and fantasy managers can certainly look to do the same with a hot bat on the waiver wire. • Out of lineup again Monday
Turner is not in the lineup for Monday's game against the White Sox.

Advice: Turner has now been absent from the lineup for two straight games and three times over his club's last five contests. He did enter the game twice over that stretch as a pinch hitter and will be an option to do so again Monday when/if the White Sox put a left-handed reliever in. Daniel Vogelbach will start at designated hitter Monday. Rotowire.com Monday, 7:52 am

    • Rehab to continue at Triple-A
Twins manager Rocco Baldelli said Sunday that Lewis (quadricep) responded well to his first two minor-league rehab games, but the 24-year-old remains without a clear timeline to return from the 10-day injured list, Phil Miller of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports. "But he's going to play this week, and we're going to see how he's doing," Baldelli said.

Advice: Lewis went 3-for-9 with a double, two runs and a stolen base over his two rehab games this weekend. The stolen base in particular was an encouraging sign that he's no longer slowed by his right quad strain, though the Twins have told him to play it safe and not attempt any more stolen bases during his rehab assignment. The Twins have been guarded about when Lewis may return, but given the team's need for offense, he may not need more than a week in the minors. Lewis may be limited to designated-hitter duties initially when he returns to limit the wear on his legs. Rotowire.com Sunday, 9:34 pm

    • Dealing with high-grade strain
Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Sunday that Berti was placed on the 10-day injured list Saturday with a high-grade left calf strain, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Boone didn't provide a timeline for Berti, though the 34-year-old will remain on the IL well beyond the 10-day minimum. Berti sustained the injury in an 8-0 win over the Padres on Friday, when he collapsed to the ground after running out of the batter's box in the ninth inning. Kevin Smith was called up from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes Barre on Saturday and should provide infield depth while Berti is on the shelf. Rotowire.com Sunday, 11:21 am

    • Jon Berti dealing with high-grade calf strain
Jon Berti has been diagnosed with a high-grade calf strain.

Advice: Yankees manager Aaron Boone told reporters that the infielder is going to be out for a while with no timetable for his return. Berti was placed on the injured list Saturday, and it does not appear this will be a short-term injury for the 34-year-old infielder. Rotoworld Sunday, 11:12 am

    • Justin Turner out Sunday against Tigers
Justin Turner is not in the starting lineup for Sunday’s game against the Tigers.

Advice: Turner will get the day off with Ernie Clement starting at third base and Daniel Vogelbach the designated hitter. Turner has been awful thus far in May with a .105 average over 57 at-bats and a .287 OPS. Rotoworld Sunday, 6:54 am

    • Out of Sunday's lineup
Turner is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Tigers.

Advice: Turner's offensive production has fallen sharply in May with a .105/.164/.123 slash line through 16 games, and he'll sit Sunday for the second time in Toronto's past four contests. Daniel Vogelbach will bat fifth as the designated hitter in the series finale at Detroit. Rotowire.com Sunday, 6:49 am

    • Hits injured list with calf strain
The Yankees placed Berti on the 10-day injured list Saturday with a left calf strain.

Advice: Berti was in visible pain after falling to the ground as he began to run toward first base during Friday's game, and it will officially cost him at least 10 days as he heads to the injured list. The trainers appeared to be working near Berti's Achilles' tendon while he was on the ground, though imaging showed he suffered only a calf strain as a result of the incident. Kevin Smith will come up from Triple-A to take Berti's roster spot. Rotowire.com Saturday, 1:35 pm
