    • Fans seven in win
      Bibee (6-2) picked up the win Monday against Baltimore, allowing two runs (one earned) on five hits and one walk while striking out seven over six innings.

      Advice: Bibee allowed an RBI single to Ryan O'Hearn in the opening frame, but he quickly found his groove and limited an explosive Orioles offense to just one earned run. The 25-year-old is one of the hottest pitchers in baseball right now, notching seven or more strikeouts for the fifth consecutive start. During that span, Bibee has pitched to a 2.51 ERA, a 0.92 WHIP and a sparkling 44:5 K:BB over 28.2 innings.     • Houck allows two earned runs in no-decision Monday
      Tanner Houck allowed three runs (two earned) in 6 2/3 innings and got a no-decision in the Red Sox’ 7-6 victory over the Blue Jays on Monday.



      Advice: Houck gave up five hits, walked one and struck out seven. Boston only scored two runs while he was in the game before coming back to win late. Houck’s ERA is now 2.18 on the year and his 101 strikeouts on the season rank inside the top 15 in all of baseball. The 27-year-old right-hander is set to face the Padres at home this weekend.

    • Tanner Bibee strikes out seven in win over O’s
      Tanner Bibee struck out seven and was charged with two runs (one earned) over six innings on Monday in a win over the Orioles.

      Advice: Bibee kept things rolling from a strikeout standpoint in this one, recording at least seven strikeouts for the sixth time in his last seven outings dating back to May 19. The 25-year-old righty generated 14 swinging strikes, with half of them coming on his four-seam fastball, and finished with a solid 27 percent CSW. He’s continued to lean a bit more on his curveball a bit more in recent outings, which coincides with the recent uptick in strikeouts, and he appears primed for a strong second half of the year. He’ll bring a solid 3.50 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 106/22 K/BB ratio across 87 1/3 innings (16 starts) into a road matchup on Saturday against the Royals. Rotoworld Monday, 6:26 pm
       
    • Nick Lodolo takes first loss since May
      Nick Lodolo lost to the Red Sox after yielding four runs — three earned — in 4 2/3 innings Sunday.

      Advice: Lodolo hadn’t allowed more than two runs in winning five straight starts since returning from the IL, but he didn’t have quite the same stuff today. With his curveball a little off, he settled for seven missed swings in the 77-pitch outing. He also walked four.     • Limited by blister
      Lodolo was limited Sunday versus the Red Sox as a result of a blister on his left index finger, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

      Advice: Lodolo tossed 4.2 innings, allowing four runs (three earned) on five hits and four walks while striking out three batters against Boston. The left-hander was tagged with the loss, while the four free passes were a season high, which is likely the result of the blister on his throwing hand. Following the contest, Lodolo said that "the feeling for the ball was not the same," but that it's "not impacting him a ton," so it's possible he'll be ready to go for his next start.     • Fans eight in fifth win
      Jones (5-6) picked up the win in Saturday's 4-3 victory over the Rays, giving up two runs on three hits and three walks over seven innings. He struck out eight.

      Advice: The day began in rough fashion for the rookie right-hander, as he hit both Brandon Lowe (toe) and Amed Rosario (face) with pitches, the latter being unable to escape a 99.6 mph fastball up and in. Rosario appeared to avoid a serious injury however, and once play resumed, Jones was able to re-focus and put together his best performance since his 10-strikeout one-hitter against the Rockies on May 4. Through his first 15 big-league starts, Jones sports a 3.66 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 93:25 K:BB through 86 innings. He's scheduled to make his next trip to the mound on the road next weekend in Atlanta.       Blanco (8-2) allowed one run on four hits and three walks while striking out four over seven innings to earn the win over the Orioles on Saturday.

      Advice: Blanco wasn't as dominant as he was with seven no-hit innings last weekend versus the Tigers, but it was still an impressive showing. He's allowed just two runs over 20 innings across his last three starts after giving up four runs in each of his two outings before this stretch of dominance. The right-hander continues to thrive in his first full year as a starter, pitching to a 2.34 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 79:35 K:BB through 84.2 innings over 14 starts.       Ronel Blanco allowed one run in seven innings to get a win Saturday over the Orioles.

      Advice: Blanco gave up a homer to Jordan Westburg in the second inning, but it was smooth sailing for the right-hander from that point on. He did put three runners on via walk, but he was able to strike out four and limited the loaded Baltimore lineup at an impressive level. Blanco has been one of the biggest bright spots for the Astros in 2024, and he’ll take a 2.34 ERA into a scheduled start against the Mets next weekend. Rotoworld Saturday, 3:29 pm

      Jared Jones allowed two runs in seven innings and got the win in the Pirates’ 4-3 victory over the Rays on Saturday.



      Advice: Jones gave up three hits, walked three and struck out eight. Tampa Bay couldn’t get much offense going against Jones. The Rays scored on an RBI groundout by Josh Lowe in the first inning and an RBI single by Ben Rortvedt in the fourth inning. The win was his fifth of the season. Jones’ ERA is down to 3.66 with a SO:BB of 93:25 this year. The 22-year-old rookie right-hander is set to face the Braves on the road next weekend.
