    • Escapes with save
Scott allowed two hits and a walk in a scoreless inning Sunday, striking out one and earning a save over the Mariners.

Advice: Scott loaded the bases with two outs but managed to finish off the 6-4 win unscathed. He tossed 16 of 22 pitches for strikes and notched his first save since Jun 11. He blew his last save chance June 13 but has since turned in five straight scoreless innings. Scott has nine saves with a 1.64 ERA and a 35:23 K:BB through 33 innings. Rotowire.com Sunday, 7:39 pm
    • Tanner Scott stays red-hot with save
Tanner Scott earned the save Sunday over the Mariners after allowing two hits and a walk. He also struck out one batter.

Advice: This was a shaky save for Scott as the Mariners put the tying run in scoring position. Luckily, Otto Lopez snagged a line drive off the bat of Julio Rodríguez that would have tied the game. Scott’s ERA sank to a minuscule 1.64 with this outing. Rotoworld Sunday, 1:25 pm
    • Tosses seven scoreless
Sanchez (5-3) earned the win Sunday, allowing three hits and striking out four over seven scoreless innings against the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Sanchez was highly efficient, needing just 80 pitches through seven and facing just one batter over the minimum thanks to a couple of timely double plays. The seven innings matched a season high for Sanchez, who tossed his eighth quality start and allowed zero runs over six or more innings for the second time this season. It's also the fifth time in his last six starts that Sanchez has allowed one or fewer runs, and he's posted a 1.78 ERA and 1.05 WHIP with 23 strikeouts over 35.1 innings during that stretch. His next start is scheduled to take place next weekend, when the Phillies welcome Miami into the City of Brotherly Love for a four-game set. Rotowire.com Sunday, 11:39 am
    • Cristopher Sánchez cruises in win over D-backs
Cristopher Sánchez shut out the Diamondbacks for seven innings, surrendering just three hits, in the Phillies’ 4-1 win Sunday.

Advice: Sánchez walked none and struck out four in the 80-pitch outing. He gave up a 387-foot fly to Christian Walker in the first that would have been a homer in nine ballparks, but CBP wasn’t one of them. Sánchez has still allowed just one homer in 84 1/3 innings for the year. He’s 5-3 with a 2.67 ERA. Rotoworld Sunday, 11:33 am
    • Placed on IL
The Pirates placed Bednar on the 15-day injured list Sunday with a strained left oblique, Alex Stumpf of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Bednar reported feeling tightness in his side during his throwing session before Saturday's contest against the Rays and wasn't available to pitch in the game. His injury was initially believed to be relatively minor, so it's possible the 29-year-old reliever will be able to return after a minimum-length stay on the IL. Until then, Aroldis Chapman will likely see the majority of save opportunities, and Justin Bruihl will come up from Triple-A to replenish the Pirates' bullpen depth. • Pirates put closer David Bednar (oblique) on IL
Pirates placed RHP David Bednar on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to June 20, with a left oblique strain.

Advice: Pirates general manager Ben Cherington said Sunday during a local radio interview that he hopes the injury is minor. The 29-year-old stopper was unavailable during Saturday’s game against the Rays due to left side tightness and is going to get some extra time off to rest and recover. There should be some clarity on his status in the coming days. It’ll presumably be Aroldis Chapman handling the closing duties for Pittsburgh during his absence. Rotoworld Sunday, 9:52 am

    • Stuck with loss Saturday
Eflin (3-5) took the loss Saturday as the Rays were downed 4-3 by the Pirates, giving up four runs on five hits and a walk over seven innings. He struck out six.

Advice: Pittsburgh stung the right-hander for a run in the first inning and three more in the third, and while Eflin settled in after that, the Tampa Bay offense wasn't able to put together a comeback. Eflin's last quality start came May 7, and in six outings since then, he's stumbled to a 4.86 ERA despite a 1.17 WHIP and 24:2 K:BB in 33.1 innings. He'll look to turn things around in his next start, which lines up to come at home next weekend against the Nationals. Rotowire.com Sunday, 5:52 am

    • Jalen Beeks gets win in relief vs. Nationals
Jalen Beeks fired 1 1/3 scoreless innings on Saturday to record a win in relief against the Nationals.

Advice: Beeks came on to record the final out of the eighth inning with the Rockies trailing by two runs at the time before coming out to spin a flawless ninth inning as well. Colorado’s lineup responded with a pair of runs in the bottom of the frame to give the veteran southpaw his fourth victory of the season. The 30-year-old lefty has excelled this year in his Rockies debut with six saves to accompany a serviceable 3.38 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 29/16 K/BB ratio across 37 1/3 innings (33 appearances). • David Bednar (side) was unavailable on Saturday
Pirates’ manager Derek Shelton told reporters after Saturday’s victory that David Bednar was unavailable due to tightness in his left side.

Advice: It was surprising to see Aroldis Chapman close out a one-run victory for the Pirates against the Rays instead of Bednar, and now we know why. Shelton noted that he doesn’t believe the injury is anything serious, but Bednar’s status should be monitored over the coming days. Those speculating on saves in daily leagues could try to catch lightning in a bottle with Chapman. Rotoworld Saturday, 4:27 pm
