• Throws bullpen session
Whitlock (oblique) threw a bullpen session Saturday, Peter Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.

Advice: Whitlock emerged from the session without issue and will embark on a throwing program. Red Sox manager Alex Cora said, "it's just the beginning," when discussing the right-hander's status. Whitlock was placed on the injured list April 17 and seemingly would need at least one rehab start. Rotowire.com 34 minutes ago

  • Max Muncy gets Sunday off after three-homer game
Max Muncy is not in the starting lineup for the Dodgers on Sunday against Atlanta.

Advice: Muncy’s reward for a three-homer game Saturday vs. Atlanta is a day off against southpaw Max Fried. The 33-year-old slugger will sit with Enrique Hernandez playing third base and hitting fifth against Fried. Rotoworld 57 minutes ago

  • Whitlock (oblique) ‘feels good’ after bullpen
Garrett Whitlock told reporters Sunday that he felt good after his bullpen session Saturday.

Advice: Whitlock will now take at least a couple days off before his next bullpen session, which has yet to be scheduled. The right-hander will likely need to make one or two more before a potential rehab assignment. There’s still no clear timetable as to when any of this can happen, however. • Faces hitters in live session
Senga (shoulder) completed a 32-pitch live batting practice session Saturday, Abbey Mastracco of the New York Daily News reports.

Advice: Facing hitters in extended live BP session marks a major milestone in Senga's recovery from a right posterior shoulder capsule strain, which caused him to miss most of spring training and resulted in him opening the season on the 15-day injured list before he was shifted to the 60-day IL on April 10. He won't be eligible to make his season debut until May 27, but Senga appears on target to return on or around that date based on where he currently stands in his recovery. The Mets will see how he bounces back from Saturday's throwing session over the next couple of days before deciding whether he's ready to report to a minor-league affiliate to begin a rehab assignment, or if he'll need to throw another live BP before doing so. • Senga (shoulder) throws 32 pitches in live BP
Kodai Senga (shoulder) threw 32 pitches in his live bullpen session Saturday.

Advice: Senga has now faced live hitters twice this week. The Mets will now determine the next steps for the right-hander in the coming days, as they want to see how he responds before deciding when he’ll begin a rehab assignment. There’s a very good chance he does begin that assignment at this point, however, and he’s on track to make his return around May 27 — the earliest Senga can be activated off the 60-day IL. • Slugs three homers in blowout win
Muncy went 4-for-5 with three home runs and four RBI in Saturday's 11-2 win over Atlanta.

Advice: The three home runs were a single-game career high for Muncy, who ended a season-long power drought after he had blasted just five long balls through his first 30 contests of the campaign prior to Saturday. Muncy's slugging percentage rose exactly 100 points after the huge game and now sits at .551 for the season, which is the best mark of his career since his first year with the Dodgers in 2018. • Tosses eight scoreless frames
Gilbert (3-0) earned the win in Saturday's 5-0 victory over Houston, allowing two hits and four walks while striking out six batters over eight scoreless innings.

Advice: Gilbert tied a season-high mark with four walks, but that didn't hurt him since he gave up just a pair of hits (both singles). The right-hander notched his fifth straight quality start and lowered his season ERA to 1.69, fifth lowest among qualified MLB pitchers. Gilbert also ranks fifth among qualified starters with a 0.79 WHIP and has registered a 50:13 K:BB through 48 innings on the campaign. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:27 pm
  • Max Muncy blasts three homers, Dodgers rout Braves
Max Muncy launched three homers on Saturday, powering the Dodgers to an 11-2 blowout victory over the Braves.

Advice: Muncy homered in the second, seventh and eighth innings to record the first three-homer game of his career. The 33-year-old veteran slugger took Braves starter Bryce Elder deep in the early stages of the contest before homering off relievers Tyler Matzek and Jackson Stephens towards the end of the game. He finished 4-for-5 with four RBI in the one-sided affair at Dodger Stadium. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:59 pm

  • Takes third straight loss
Detmers (3-3) took the loss against Cleveland on Saturday, allowing seven runs on five hits and four walks while striking out seven batters over 5.2 innings.

Advice: Detmers entered the sixth inning with a quality start still in sight, as he had allowed three runs to that point. However, the left-hander got himself into trouble by walking three batters in the frame, and Bo Naylor made the hurler pay with a grand slam to blow the game open. The seven runs, three homers and four free passes were all season-worst marks for Detmers, who was tagged with his third consecutive loss. The 24-year-old looked to be on his way to a breakout campaign by posting a 1.19 ERA and 30:7 K:BB over 22.2 innings across his first four starts, but he's stumbled since, allowing 16 earned runs and recording a 14:7 K:BB over 17.2 frames in his past three outings.
