• Logan Webb shuts down Dodgers over six in win
Logan Webb tossed sixth scoreless innings with five strikeouts in a win over the Dodgers on Wednesday.

Advice: Webb worked around some trouble to start the game, loading the bases with one out in the first inning. He struck out a batter for the second out and escaped the jam with a line out to right field. Webb scattered two walks and two hits over five more scoreless frames, striking out five on the day. The 27-year-old right-hander will take a 3.03 ERA, 1.35 WHIP, and a 47/17 K/BB ratio across 59 1/3 innings into a start against the Pirates in Pittsburgh next Wednesday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:13 pm
  • Elieser Hernández tosses quality start against Giants
Elieser Hernández allowed three runs with three strikeouts over six innings in a loss to the Giants on Wednesday.

Advice: Hernández was solid in his first major league start since 2022, tossing a quality start in San Francisco. He surrendered a two-run homer to Mike Yastrzemski in the third inning, then gave up a run on a base hit and a double in the sixth. With no off days for another week, a second start could come next Tuesday against the Diamondbacks in Los Angeles. Otherwise, he’ll likely retreat to Triple-A to continue working as a starter. The 30-year-old left-hander ends the day with a 2.97 ERA, 1.21 WHIP, and a 31/11 K/BB ratio across 36 1/3 innings. He’ll take on Angels in Houston on Monday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:21 pm
  • Aaron Brooks goes seven innings in loss to Astros
Aaron Brooks allowed three runs with five strikeouts over seven innings in a loss to the Astros on Wednesday.

Advice: Brooks was recalled for his first major league start on Wednesday. A single, double, and a sacrifice fly would bring two runs in for Houston in the first inning. The Astros would bring one more run in to score on two hits in the fourth. Brooks settled in to toss three more scoreless frames, striking out five over his seven innings of work. The 34-year-old right-hander should remain in the rotation with Alex Wood on the injured list. He lines up for a start against the Rockies in Oakland on Tuesday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:20 pm
  • Andrés Muñoz slams door on Royals on Wednesday
Andrés Muñoz slammed the door on the Royals on Wednesday afternoon, recording the final five outs to protect a two-run lead and earn his seventh save of the season.

Advice: The 25-year-old right-hander came on with runners at second and third with one out in the eighth inning and the Mariners leading 4-1. He did allow a run to score as Bobby Witt Jr. grounded out to second base, but then Muñoz punched out Vinnie Pasquantino to end the threat. He returned for the ninth where he allowed a leadoff double to Salvador Perez but nothing more — finishing the frame with a pair of strikeouts. He now holds a 1.47 ERA, 0.87 WHIP and a 24/7 K/BB ratio (18 1/3 innings) to go along with seven saves and a pair of wins on the season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:54 pm
  • Bryan Woo fans five in victory over Royals
Bryan Woo was terrific in Wednesday’s victory over the Royals, striking out five batters over 5 1/3 innings of one-run baseball.

Advice: The 24-year-old right-hander scattered just three hits and one walk on the afternoon. The lone tally against him came on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Bobby Witt Jr. in the sixth inning. Woo generated 13 swings and misses on 79 pitches on the afternoon — eight of those on his heater which averaged 95.1 mph — while posting a CSW of 29 percent. He’ll look to build upon this strong performance when he toes the slab against the Yankees in New York on Tuesday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:50 pm
  • Alec Marsh pitches well in loss to Mariners
Alec Marsh pitched well in a losing effort against the Mariners on Wednesday afternoon, surrendering two runs (one earned) on five hits over his five frames.

Advice: The right-hander punched out seven batters on the day while allowing only one base on balls. The Mariners scratched out an unearned run against him in the second inning, then Ty France got him for a solo homer in the fourth inning — but that was the extent of the damage done against him. Marsh got a whopping 16 swings and misses on 102 pitches on the day — nine of those on his fastball — while posting a CSW of 29 percent. He’ll carry a stellar 2.43 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and a 31/10 K/BB ratio (37 innings) into a nice matchup against the Tigers in Kansas City on Tuesday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:50 pm

  • Promoted, starting Wednesday
The Dodgers selected Hernandez's contract from Triple-A Oklahoma City, and he's starting Wednesday's game against the Giants, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Advice: The right-hander signed with the Dodgers as a non-roster invitee during the offseason and will now receive his first look with the big-league club. Hernandez has covered at least five frames in each of his previous five starts at Triple-A and posted a 2.45 ERA during that stretch, but he may not last that long Wednesday with Los Angeles expected to have a bullpen game. Ryan Yarbrough and Eduardo Salazar -- who was promoted Wednesday -- are also in the mix to see bulk innings. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:54 pm
