• Beginning rehab assignment
Megill (shoulder) will start a rehab assignment Saturday at High-A Brooklyn, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Advice: The right-hander suffered a shoulder strain in his season debut March 31 against the Brewers, but he now recovered from the injury and is ready for game action. Megill figures to require at least two starts in the minors before being cleared to rejoin the Mets' rotation. Rotowire.com 17 minutes ago

  • Facing hitters Monday
Senga (shoulder) threw an up-and-down bullpen session Thursday and is slated to face hitters Monday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Advice: It will be the right-hander's first time facing hitters since he was diagnosed with a shoulder capsule strain back in late February. Senga still faces a long road ahead, but he's making nice progress and shouldn't be too far off from a rehab assignment if all continues to go well. He is on the 60-day injured list and not eligible for activation until late May. Rotowire.com 23 minutes ago

  • Moves to injured list
The Marlins placed Luzardo on the 15-day injured list Friday, retroactive to April 23, with left elbow tightness.

Advice: The left-hander was scratched from Friday's start against Washington due to the injury and will now be sidelined for at least the next couple weeks. According to Christina De Nicola of MLB.com, Luzardo first felt the elbow issue while playing catch Thursday and believes it shouldn't be a lengthy absence, though he's also awaiting test results that should provide more clarity on the injury. • Marlins place Jesús Luzardo (elbow) on 15-day IL
Marlins placed LHP Jesús Luzardo on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to April 23, with left elbow tightness.

Advice: No surprise here. Luzardo was supposed to make a start against the Nationals on Friday, but he was scratched due to elbow discomfort and now he’ll be sidelined for at least the next two weeks. The 26-year-old said he felt the discomfort while playing catch on Thursday and feels an IL stint is more precautionary than anything else. The team is awaiting more test results, but the hope is that he only has to miss one to two starts. Rotoworld Today, 12:02 pm

  • Getting another rehab start
Means (forearm) will make another rehab start with Triple-A Norfolk on Sunday, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Advice: The Orioles previously hadn't ruled out the possibility that Means' next start could come in the majors, but ultimately they've decided to give him at least one more tune-up. It's not a surprise, as the southpaw has really struggled on his rehab assignment to this point, collecting a 13.89 ERA, 2.41 WHIP and 14:6 K:BB in 11.2 innings. Means did get his pitch count up to 79 in his last outing, so he should be fully built up after Sunday's start. He could make his season debut with the Orioles as soon as May 3 in Cincinnati. • Astros option J.P. France to Triple-A
Astros optioned J.P France to Triple-A Sugar Land.

Advice: After initial reports, the move is official. France will head down to the minors with the team activating Framber Valdez for this weekend’s series against the Rockies in Mexico City. It hasn’t been a great season for France, who has a 7.46 ERA through his first five starts and has failed to get through six innings in each of his outings. The 29-year-old will look to get right down at the Triple-A level and get back on the active roster with the Astros at some point this season. Rotoworld Today, 8:36 am
  • Scratched due to sore elbow
Luzardo has been scratched from Friday's scheduled outing against the Nationals due to left elbow soreness.

Advice: Luzardo felt soreness in his pitching elbow Thursday and is set to undergo further testing. It's yet another blow to a Marlins pitching staff that's sustained plenty of them early on this season. Anthony Maldonado will be called up from Triple-A Jacksonville to work as the opener Friday in a bullpen game for Miami. Luzardo has had an uneven 2024 season, collecting a 6.58 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 27:13 K:BB over 26 innings covering his first five starts. Rotowire.com Today, 7:26 am

  • Jesús Luzardo (elbow) scratched from Friday start
Jesús Luzardo (elbow) was scratched from Friday’s start against the Nationals.

Advice: Not good. The team said Luzardo will undergo testing for discomfort to his elbow and this more than likely means the 26-year-old will be placed on the injured list in the near future. This adds to the multitude of injuries for Miami’s pitching rotation, with the likes of Sandy Alcantara and Eury Perez both out for the season and Braxton Garrett already on the injured list. • Throws bullpen session
Darvish (neck) threw a bullpen session Wednesday, MLB.com reports.

Advice: Darvish's bullpen session marked his first time throwing off a mound since he landed on the 15-day injured list April 17 with neck tightness. Padres manager Mike Shildt indicated that Darvish wasn't throwing with full effort, saying the right-hander "was on the gas, but didn't have it to the floor." Darvish will likely require at least one or two more bullpen sessions before progressing to facing hitters and then perhaps heading out on a rehab assignment. There's no clear timeline yet for his return to San Diego's rotation. Rotowire.com Today, 6:57 am
