    • Resuming rehab assignment
Lowe (oblique/hamstring) will resume a rehab assignment with Triple-A Durham on Thursday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Advice: Lowe had been set to return from his oblique strain last weekend but was delayed after experiencing right hamstring tightness in a game at Durham. However, the feeling is that it was just a minor setback and he has been cleared to return to game action. Lowe will be evaluated on a day-to-day basis at Durham to determine when he can rejoin the Rays' active roster. Rotowire.com 43 minutes ago

    • Josh Lowe to start second rehab assignment Thurs.
Rays sent Josh Lowe (hamstring) on a rehab assignment with Triple-A Durham on Thursday.

Advice: It’s been a frustrating process for the Rays and fantasy managers who have Lowe rostered. The 26-year-old outfielder was supposed to be activated from the injured list this past weekend, but hamstring tightness while rehabbing delayed his return. Lowe will rehab with Durham on Thursday and will be evaluated on a day-to-day basis. Overall, it’s not what managers want to hear but it’s better to have him 100% healthy than risk another injury that could be prevented while with Tampa Bay. Rotoworld 45 minutes ago

    • Orioles place Grayson Rodriguez on 15-day IL
Orioles placed RHP Grayson Rodriguez on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to April 30, with right shoulder inflammation.

Advice: The move comes just two days after Rodriguez’s last start where he allowed zero runs in 5 2/3 innings against the Yankees on Monday. The 24-year-old has posted a 3.71 ERA, 1.41 WHIP with a 37/12 K/BB ratio in his six starts this season. The positive for the Orioles is that the team was able to activate John Means and Kyle Bradish should be back in the rotation soon as well. Rotoworld 55 minutes ago
    • Hits IL with shoulder inflammation
The Orioles placed Rodriguez on the 15-day injured list Wednesday with right shoulder inflammation, Danielle Allentuck of TheBaltimoreBanner.com reports.

Advice: Rodriguez showed no signs of being hindered by an injury in his last start against the Yankees on Monday, striking out three over 5.2 scoreless innings. However, the right-hander's shoulder is evidently bothering him enough that he will miss a least the next two weeks of action. John Means (forearm) was activated from the 15-day IL in a corresponding move and will replaced Rodriguez on the 26-man active roster and in the rotation. Rotowire.com Today, 9:39 am
    • Semien doubles and triples in two-hit night
Marcus Semien went 2-for-5 with a double, a triple, and two runs scored in Tuesday’s win over the Nationals.

Advice: Semien played the role of catalyst for the Rangers on Tuesday night, as he would eventually come around to score on both of his hits on the evening in a game the Rangers won handily by a score of 7-1. Semien closes out the month of April, slashing .258/.319/.452 while also belting five homers and driving in 20 runs. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:11 pm

    • Fans nine in no-decision
Gibson came away with a no-decision in the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Tigers, allowing one run on four hits and two walks over seven innings in a 2-1 win. He struck out nine.

Advice: A Riley Greene solo shot in the fourth inning was the only damage off Gibson, but he left the mound in line for the loss as he got out-dueled by Jack Flaherty. The Cardinals were able to rally in the ninth to take Gibson off the hook, however. He generated 30 called or swinging strikes among his 98 pitches while setting a new season high in strikeouts, and the 36-year-old righty sports a 3.79 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 29:14 K:BB through 38 innings. Gibson lines up to make his next start at home early next week against the Mets. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:04 pm
    • Kyle Gibson allows one run Tuesday in no-decision
Kyle Gibson struck out nine and allowed one run over seven innings on Tuesday in a no-decision against the Tigers.

Advice: Gibson drew the starting assignment for the opening contest of Tuesday’s twin bill in the Motor City and held serve with Jack Flaherty in a throwback pitcher’s duel. A fourth inning solo homer by Riley Greene represented the lone tally against him in this one. He’ll bring a serviceable 3.79 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 29/14 K/BB ratio across 38 innings (six starts) into a home outing on Monday against the Mets. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:11 pm
    • Moves to injured list
The Rockies placed Jones on the 10-day injured list Tuesday, retroactive to April 29, with a low-back strain.

Advice: The 25-year-old was removed from Sunday's game against the Astros after his back injury flared up, and he'll be sidelined for at least the next week and a half after being diagnosed with a strain. Prospect Jordan Beck was promoted in a corresponding move and should see most of the reps in left field while Jones is sidelined. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:39 am

    • Rockies place Nolan Jones (back) on 10-day IL
Rockies placed OF Nolan Jones on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to April 29, with a low back strain.

Advice: Jones was removed from last Sunday’s game due to back tightness and now will head to the injured list until at least mid-May. The 25-year-old is slashing .170/.243/.277 through his first 26 games this season, which is definitely a disappointment for fantasy managers that drafted him expecting more of the same in 2023, but he’s hit somewhat of a sophomore slump.
