    • Luis Arraez collects four hits in Padres debut
Luis Arraez had quite the night at the plate in his Padres debut on Saturday night, going 4-for-6 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI as the Padres walloped the Diamondbacks 13-1.

Advice: Arraez led off the game with a double off of Brandon Pfaadt, then raced around to score the Padres’ first run on an RBI single off the bat of Manny Machado. He singled in the third inning and then added an RBI single in the fourth inning. Arraez also led off the seventh inning with a single and scored on an RBI double by Machado. With the four-hit night, the 27-year-old infielder is now hitting .315/.359/.392 with six RBI on the season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:07 pm

    • Luis Arraez leading off in Padres debut Saturday
Luis Arraez will serve as the designated hitter and bat leadoff in his Padres’ debut against the Diamondbacks on Saturday night.

Advice: The sweet-swinging 27-year-old was hitting .299/.347/.372 with zero homers and five RBI through 148 plate appearances with the Marlins. He’ll now serve as the catalyst for a Padres’ offense that could use a boost at the top of the order. Jurickson Profar — who had been serving as the team’s leadoff hitter — will slide down to the fifth spot in the lineup on Saturday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:24 pm

    • Padres officially acquire Luis Arraez from Marlins
Padres acquired Luis Arraez and cash considerations from the Marlins for OF Dillon Head, OF Jakob Marsee, 1B Nathan Martorella and RHP Woo-Suk Go.

Advice: What was announced Friday is official Saturday. Arraez will head to the Padres after hitting .299 with a 719 OPS over 137 at-bats with the Marlins in 2023, and he’s a career .324/.377/.423 hitter in his time with the Fish and the Twins. He should play everyday and hit near the top of the order, but just keep in mind his strong average doesn’t come with help in other categories. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:36 am

    • Headed to San Diego
The Marlins traded Arraez to the Padres on Friday in exchange for Dillon Head, Woo-suk Go, Nathan Martorella and Jakob Marsee, Craig Mish of the Miami Herald reports.

Advice: It's not immediately clear how Arraez will fit into the Padres' lineup, as San Diego already has a strong infield unit that includes Jake Cronenworth, Xander Bogaerts, Ha-Seong Kim and Manny Machado, but it's possible Arraez fills in as the Friars' primary designated hitter. The 27-year-old is slashing .299/.347/.372 across 148 plate appearances so far this season, and his departure from Miami leaves Vidal Brujan as the favorite to take over as the Marlins' main second baseman. • Padres closing in on deal to acquire Luis Arraez
Jeff Passan of ESPN reports that the Padres are finalizing a deal to acquire second baseman Luis Arraez from the Marlins.

Advice: Passan notes that the Marlins will receive a package of three prospects and a relief pitcher in return for the two-time defending batting champion. The Padres already have a strong combo up the middle with Ha-Seong Kim and Xander Bogaerts, so its likely that the plan is to play Arraez at either first base or third base. Stay tuned, as Passan notes that the deal is in medical review and expected to be finalized soon. Rotoworld Friday, 6:35 pm

    • Tyler Black batting cleanup in first MLB start
Tyler Black is batting cleanup and playing first base in his first MLB start against the Rays on Wednesday.

Advice: The Brewers’ No. 4 prospect will be thrown into an opportune spot in his first major league start. Black got his first taste of the big leagues on Tuesday when he came in as a pinch hitter and went 2-for-4 with a double and a run. The 25-year-old came to Milwaukee batting .303 with five homers and three steals at Triple-A Nashville this season and is absolutely worth stashing in all fantasy formats given his power and speed if he’s still available. • Tallies two hits in debut
Black went 2-for-4 and scored a run during Tuesday's win over Tampa Bay.

Advice: Black was not in the Brewers' starting lineup Tuesday, but he ended up serving as the designated hitter for most of the game after Gary Sanchez (hamstring) was removed from the game in the first inning. Black doubled and singled in his first two MLB at-bats, and he was able to score his first run in the big leagues thanks to a fifth-inning Willy Adames homer. The 23-year-old infielder will likely see the field most often versus right-handed starters, though he showed he can hold his own against lefties Tuesday, as both of his hits Tuesday came off of southpaws. • Brewers call up top prospect Tyler Black
Brewers selected the contract of INF Tyler Black from Triple-A Nashville.

Advice: Black is one of the more intriguing prospects in the fantasy landscape, thanks to his combination of elite plate discipline and power/speed production in tandem with his ability to handle several defensive spots. The 23-year-old infielder gets his first look in the big leagues after batting .303 (30-for-99) with five homers and three steals in 25 games this season for Triple-A Nashville. He slashed a robust .284/.417/.513 with 18 homers and 55 steals in 558 plate appearances last year between Double-A Biloxi and Triple-A Nashville. He’s absolutely worthy of a speculative roster spot in all fantasy formats. Rotoworld Tuesday, 2:14 pm

    • Officially promoted
The Brewers selected Black's contract from Triple-A Nashville on Tuesday.

Advice: After slashing .303/.393/.525 across 117 plate appearances this season at Triple-A, Black will officially come up from the minors to give the Brewers an additional option at first and third base. He will not start Tuesday's game against the Rays, as Rhys Hoskins and Joey Ortiz will get the nod at those respective positions against left-hander Tyler Alexander. However, the lefty-hitting Black figures to challenge Jake Bauers for starts at first base against right-handed starters. In order to make room for Black on the active roster, Owen Miller was optioned to Nashville and Wade Miley (elbow) was transferred to the 60-day injured list. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 2:11 pm
