    • Dansby Swanson goes deep in victory over Brewers
Dansby Swanson walloped his fourth home run of the season on Sunday as the Cubs shut out the Brewers at Wrigley Field.

Advice: Swanson crushed a 399-foot (109.3 mph EV) solo shot off of Thyago Viera in the sixth inning, extending the Cubs’ lead to 4-0. That would be his only hit in four at-bats on the afternoon. The 30-year-old infielder has had a rough go at the plate through the first month-plus of the 2024 campaign — slashing .220/.287/.358 to go along with four homers, 12 RBI and four stolen bases. • Ezequiel Tovar gets first day off of season
Ezequiel Tovar is not in the lineup to begin Sunday’s game against the Pirates.

Advice: For the first time in 2024, Tovar will get a day off. The shortstop will at least begin Sunday’s finale on the bench with Alan Trejo handling his duties. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:54 am
    • Receiving first day off
Tovar is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Pirates, Luke Zahlmann of The Denver Gazette reports.

Advice: Tovar will take a seat for the first time all season after starting in each of Colorado's first 33 games, enabling Alan Trejo to enter the lineup at shortstop. The Rockies are likely hoping that a day on the bench will be helpful for Tovar as he looks to break out of his recent funk at the plate; over his last nine games, he's slashing .128/.171/.154 with a 39 percent strikeout rate. • Carlos Correa plates two as Twins defeat Red Sox
Carlos Correa went 0-for-3 and drove in a pair of runs on Saturday as the Twins triumphed over the Red Sox.

Advice: Correa drove in the Twins’ first run in the opening inning with an RBI ground out off of Brennan Bernadino. He then added a sacrifice fly in the sixth inning that extended their lead to 3-1. On the season, the 29-year-old shortstop is now hitting .255/.364/.345 with a homer and seven RBI through his first 16 games. Rotoworld Saturday, 1:52 pm

    • Retreats to bench
Swanson is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Mets.

Advice: Swanson will get a chance to rest up for the day game after a night game, with Nico Hoerner moving over from second base to replace him at shortstop. The off day comes while Swanson has gone 3-for-17 with eight strikeouts against one walk over his last five games. Rotowire.com Thursday, 7:57 am

    • Three hits, steal in win
Castro went 3-for-5 with a double, a triple, an RBI, a run scored and a stolen base in Wednesday's 10-5 win over the White Sox.

Advice: Castro wound up a homer shy of a cycle Wednesday while recording his fifth multi-hit game during his current eight-game hitting streak. He's gone 16-for-35 (.457) over the course of the streak, boosting his slash line to .270/.339/.450 through 30 games this year. The 27-year-old Castro added two homers, 13 runs scored, 12 RBI and three stolen bases while serving as the Twins' primary third baseman in the absence of Royce Lewis (quadriceps). • Willi Castro goes 3-for-5, steals base
Willi Castro went 3-for-5 with a triple, a double and a stolen base Wednesday as the Twins took down the White Sox 10-5.

Advice: Castro has really warmed up, going 16-for-35 with eight RBI in his last eight games. That’s raised his OPS from .538 to 789. He was in line to lose playing time due to Carlos Correa’s return, but the hot streak has changed that, and now that Byron Buxton is down, there’s little doubt that Castro will stay in the lineup for a while. He’s an option for teams in need of steals. Rotoworld Wednesday, 2:27 pm

    • Carlos Correa (intercostal) officially off of IL
Twins activated INF Carlos Correa off the 10-day injured list.

Advice: Correa ended up missing a couple of weeks with his intercostal strain. The infielder is back with Austin Martin heading back to Triple-A in the corresponding transaction. Now that Correa is back, he’ll play everyday at shortstop and hit in the middle of the Minnesota lineup. Rotoworld Apr 29, 1:15 pm

    • Comes off IL
The Twins reinstated Correa (intercostal) from the 10-day injured list Monday.

Advice: Correa ended up spending about two and a half weeks on the IL after being deactivated April 13 with a right intercostal strain. Though he wasn't sent out on a minor-league rehab assignment prior to being activated, Correa should immediately take back an everyday role at shortstop as he rejoins the active roster ahead of Monday's series opener versus the White Sox. Outfielder Austin Martin was optioned to Triple-A St. Paul in a corresponding move. Rotowire.com Apr 29, 10:58 am
