    • Hard-luck loss Tuesday
Berrios (4-2) took the loss Tuesday against the Royals, allowing two runs on five hits and a walk over seven innings. He struck out three.

Advice: Berrios was solid Tuesday, holding the Royals to two runs on a Michael Massey homer in the second inning, en route to a sixth quality start in seven outings this year. However, the 29-year-old Berrios was ultimately stuck with a second straight loss to Kansas City as the Blue Jays could only muster a lone run off Cole Ragans. Berrios lowered his ERA to an excellent 1.44 with a 1.01 WHIP and 31:13 K:BB through 43.2 innings this season. He'll look to get back in the win column in his next start, currently lined up for next week in Philadelphia. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:47 pm
    • José Berríos gets tough luck loss against Royals
José Berríos allowed two runs on five hits over seven innings in a loss to the Royals on Tuesday.

Advice: Berríos was good, but Cole Ragans was just better. Berríos also struck out just three on the evening while walking one and posting just a 13 percent whiff rate. He did register a 27 percent CSW thanks to his ability to pound the zone with his sinker, but his curve and changeup couldn’t consistently find the zone and he got few chases out of the zone on that breaking ball which limited his overall effectiveness. Berríos has outpitched his peripheries so far this year and there is some regression coming on his 1.44 ERA but you can still start him every game while he’s pitching like this, including next week against the Phillies. • Rutschman has two hits in win over Yankees
Adley Rutschman went 2-for-4 with an RBI in a win over the Yankees on Tuesday.

Advice: It wasn’t an exceptional day for Rutschman on Tuesday, but he was the only Oriole to pick up multiple hits. His two singles upped his triple slash to .322/.362/.449 with 18 RBI on the season. He has a surprisingly low 5.7 percent walk rate on the season, but the rest of the profile has been exactly as expected for one of the best fantasy catchers in the game. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:26 pm
    • Throwing bullpen session
Snell (thigh) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session Wednesday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Advice: Snell landed on the shelf last week with a Grade 2 adductor strain, but he wasn't shut down from throwing for long. The left-hander hopes to spend close to the 15-day minimum on the injured list, though he seems likely to be sidelined a bit longer. A specific timeline for Snell's return could come into focus as he ramps up his throwing program. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:41 pm

    • Blake Snell throwing bullpen session Wednesday
Blake Snell (adductor) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session on Wednesday.

Advice: Snell hit the injured list last week with a left adductor strain, so it’s a positive sign that he’s ready to resume throwing already. The 31-year-old southpaw is aiming to return in early May without requiring anything beyond a minimum stay on the 15-day injured list. There should be an update on his potential return timeline at some point later this week depending on how he comes out of Wednesday’s throwing session. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:03 pm

    • Hits mid-90s in bullpen
Senga (shoulder) reached the mid-90s with his fastball during Monday's bullpen against live hitters and used all of his pitches in the session, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Advice: The Mets have been very deliberate so far with Senga's recovery from a shoulder capsule strain, but the organization's patience seems to be paying off. While the right-hander feels he will be back in the big-league rotation right around when he's first eligible to come off the IL on May 27, general manager David Stearns wouldn't sign off on that timeline, indicating Monday that he couldn't say whether Senga would be back in late May or early June. The 31-year-old is set to face live hitters two more times before beginning a rehab assignment around May 11. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:06 am

    • Belts homer in win
De La Cruz went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Monday in a 5-2 victory against the Padres.

Advice: De La Cruz set the Reds on a positive path with his massive 443-foot solo shot to center field in the first inning. The long ball snapped a four game-stretch during which the dynamic young shortstop didn't knock any extra-base hits and went just 1-for-13 at the plate, though he did maintain valuable production with three thefts during that span. De La Cruz has been one of baseball's most impressive performers early in the campaign, slashing .280/.390/.590 with eight home runs, 19 RBI, 26 runs and a league-leading 18 stolen bases through 118 plate appearances. • Corbin Carroll settles for lone single in loss
Corbin Carroll contributed a single in four at-bats as the Diamondbacks’ No. 8 hitter on Monday.

Advice: Carroll had two hard-hit balls tonight, including a 408-foot flyout that Statcast said would have been a homer in 17 of 30 ballparks. Power has been the issue for the 23-year-old this season, so this was a pretty good night, even if the box score looks perfectly generic. Rotoworld Monday, 10:41 pm

    • Clubs pair of homers
Turner went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run and a solo home run during Monday's 6-5 win over the Royals.

Advice: Turner dominated Royals starter Jonathan Bowlan -- who was making his second career start -- notching home runs off him in the first and third innings. The contest doubled Turner's 2024 home run total and was his first multi-homer game since June of 2023. Through 28 games, Turner is slashing .311/.390/.533 with 15 RBI and 15 runs scored.
