    • Josh Hader nets 20th save on Saturday vs. M’s
Josh Hader fired a scoreless ninth inning on Saturday against the Mariners to record his 20th save of the season.

Advice: Hader was called upon to protect a two-run lead in the final frame on Saturday evening at T-Mobile Park and needed just 19 pitches (13 strikes) to preserve the victory. He got two quick outs on a Jorge Polanco fly out and strike out of Ryan Bliss before issuing a two-out walk to rookie Jonatan Clase. He managed to extinguish the potential threat by fanning Luke Raley to end it. The 30-year-old southpaw has converted 20 of 21 save opportunities this season in his Astros debut. • Framber Valdez settles for no-decision vs. M’s
Framber Valdez was charged with two runs over 5 2/3 innings on Saturday in a no-decision against the Mariners.

Advice: Valdez carried a shutout into the sixth inning before coughing up a two-run homer to Mariners franchise cornerstone Julio Rodríguez, which accounted for all of the damage against him. He struck out six and also handed out four free passes. The 30-year-old lefty has been excellent over the last few weeks, allowing three earned runs or fewer in six consecutive starts dating back to June 18. He’ll bring a respectable 3.63 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 88/36 K/BB ratio across 104 innings (17 starts) into a challenging home matchup on Friday against the Dodgers. Rotoworld 54 minutes ago
    • George Kirby fans six in no-decision vs. Astros
George Kirby struck out six and allowed one run over six innings on Saturday in a no-decision against the Astros.

Advice: Kirby was in complete control early on, limiting Houston’s lineup to just four hits over six frames with a fourth-inning ground out by Jeremy Peña leading to the lone tally against him in this one. He generated 15 swinging strikes, including seven on his slider alone, and finished with a 27 percent CSW. He’s allowed three earned runs or fewer in 10 consecutive outings since May 29. He’ll carry a solid 3.20 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 122/13 K/BB ratio across 123 2/3 innings (21 starts) into a tasty matchup on Friday against the White Sox, who are in the midst of a potential teardown. • Strong in no-decision
Peralta allowed two hits and two walks while striking out eight over six scoreless innings in a no-decision versus the Twins on Saturday.

Advice: Peralta posted his third scoreless outing of the season. He's limited opponents to four hits or fewer in five of his last six starts, though this was just his third quality start in that span. The veteran right-hander is now at a 3.88 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 138:38 K:BB through 109 innings over 20 starts this season. His next outing is projected to be a favorable home start versus the Marlins. • Wild in win
Gallen (7-5) allowed three hits and six walks while striking out four over five shutout innings, earning the win Saturday over the Cubs.

Advice: Gallen was unusually lacking in command and control -- this was the second time in five starts he's walked multiple batters, and it's the first time all year he's walked more batters than he's struck out. The Cubs were unable to punish his wildness, and the Diamondbacks' bullpen went on to yield just one hit over four scoreless innings to preserve a 3-0 lead. Gallen is now at a 3.64 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 80:27 K:BB through 81.2 innings across 16 starts this year. The right-hander's next start is projected to be at home versus the Pirates. • Back to starting Wednesday
Correcting a previous report, Glasnow (back) will start Wednesday's game against the Giants, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Advice: Manager Dave Roberts accidentally stated Glasnow would start Thursday and Clayton Kershaw (shoulder) would start Wednesday, prompting the Dodgers to issue a correction. Glasnow threw 58 pitches across three simulated innings Friday and will likely be on a pitch count against San Francisco. The start will be Glasnow's first since being placed on the injured list July 9 due to back tightness. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:48 pm
    • To start Thursday
Manager Dave Roberts said Saturday that Glasnow (back) will start Thursday's game against the Giants, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Glasnow was trending toward returning to start Wednesday's game, but it'll be Clayton Kershaw (shoulder) on the mound instead, pushing Glasnow's start to Thursday. Glasnow threw 58 pitches across three simulated innings Friday, so it's likely he will be on a pitch count for his first start since July 5. The 30-year-old has a 3.47 ERA and a 0.93 WHIP with 143 strikeouts across 109.0 innings this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:40 pm
    • Peralta blanks Twins over six innings, gets ND
Freddy Peralta didn’t give up a run over six innings in his start against the Brewers on Saturday, but didn’t factor into the decision.

Advice: Peralta gave up singles to Max Kepler and Eduard Julien and that was it. The right-hander issued eight strikeouts against two walks while throwing 62-of-102 pitches for strikes. The 28-year-old was outstanding in his first start after the break and improved his K/BB to 138/38 and lowered his ERA to 3.88, but his bullpen couldn’t hold a 1-0 lead. He has a tasty matchup lined up next weekend against the Marlins. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:18 pm
    • Gallen blanks Cubs, picks up seventh win Saturday
Zac Gallen tossed five shutout innings and got the win in the Diamondbacks’ 3-0 victory over the Cubs on Saturday.

Advice: The win was Gallen’s seventh of the season. He gave up three hits, walked six and struck out four. Gallen didn’t have his good command in this one, but battled and made tough pitches when he had to. He has a 3.64 ERA and 3.62 xFIP on the season. The 28-year-old right-hander is set to face the Pirates at home next weekend. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:37 pm
