      Advice: Poor command pushed Morton’s pitch count up in what was otherwise a fantastic outing. This was the sixth straight start in which Morton decreased the usage of his fastball and Sunday marked a season-low at 15%. In turn, he turned to more changeups which the Athletics couldn’t square up, but Morton also struggled to find the zone with it at times.       Luis Arraez was removed from Sunday afternoon’s game against the Royals due to an apparent injury.

      Advice: Arraez was thrown out at second base attempting to stretch a single into a double in the top half of the fifth inning. He remained in the game for another inning defensively, but was ultimately replaced by Tyler Wade when the Padres took the field in the sixth inning.       Logan Webb gave up four runs over seven innings on Saturday in a loss to the Yankees.

      Advice: Webb fell behind right away in this one when he served up a colossal two-run homer to Aaron Judge in the opening frame. He was tagged for a pair of additional runs in the third inning, but managed to escape further damage, and wound up still completing seven frames to spare San Francisco’s bullpen. He struck out six and only handed out one free pass. The 27-year-old workhorse will carry a strong 2.95 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 67/20 K/BB ratio across 79 1/3 innings (13 starts) into a challenging road matchup on Friday against the Rangers.       Suzuki went 2-for-4 with a grand slam and a triple in Saturday's 7-5 win against Cincinnati.

      Advice: The Cubs fell behind by four runs early but tied the game with one stroke of the bat on Suzuki's second-inning grand slam. It was his first career grand slam and sixth homer of the campaign.       Rooker went 2-for-5 with a two-run double and a two-run home run in a win over Atlanta on Saturday.

      Advice: Rooker extended the Athletics' lead to 8-3 via his 421-foot blast in the fourth inning with Max Schuemann aboard, and he then erased a 9-8 deficit in the sixth by bringing home Miguel Andujar and Schuemann with a timely two-bagger. The pair of extra-base hits pushed Rooker's total in that category to 24 (out of 49 total hits), and he's now reached safely in 12 straight games while getting on at a stellar .388 clip in that span.
