    • Three-hit night in rout
Rodriguez went 3-for-4 with a pair of RBI singles and a run in a win over the Angels on Saturday.

Advice: Teammates J.P. Crawford and Luke Raley connected for big blasts, but Rodriguez took a peskier approach with his constant presence of the basepaths. The star outfielder brought home Ryan Bliss in both the third and sixth innings, and Rodriguez eventually also crossed the plate with the final run of the night following the latter knock. Rodriguez now has three multi-RBI tallies in the last seven games, a stretch during which he's also recorded four multi-hit efforts and posted a .429 average (12-for-28). Rotowire.com 10 minutes ago
    • Rodriguez has three-hit game Saturday
Julio Rodriguez went 3-for-4 with a run scored and two RBI against the Angels on Saturday.

Advice: Rodriguez started the scoring with an RBI single in the third inning and added another RBI single in the sixth inning to put the Mariners ahead 7-0. He’s now up to .273 with 23 RBI on the season. Rodriguez hasn’t lived up to his first round draft status so far this season because his power has nosedived. His .071 ISO this year is over 100 points lower than his career .192 ISO. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:43 pm
    • Jorge Soler absent from Giants lineup on Saturday
Jorge Soler is not in the Giants’ starting lineup for Saturday night’s battle against the Yankees.

Advice: It looks to be nothing more than a regular day of rest and maintenance for the 32-year-old slugger. Trenton Brooks will serve as the Giants’ designated hitter in his place on Saturday and will bat seventh against Cody Poteet and the Yankees in San Francisco. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:50 pm

    • Taking seat
Soler is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the Yankees, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Advice: Soler is hitless in his last 14 at-bats with four strikeouts and will get a day off Saturday to regroup. Trenton Brooks will be the Giants' designated hitter and bat seventh. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:49 pm

    • Expects to be back when eligible
O'Neill (knee) said Friday that he expects to be activated from the 10-day injured list when first eligible Wednesday, Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald reports.

Advice: O'Neill was given a cortisone injection to combat inflammation in his right knee and said the shot has helped a lot. It would appear he's likely to skip a rehab assignment and return when his 10 days are up. O'Neill has just a .545 OPS and 43.9 percent strikeout in May after collecting a 1.127 OPS and 24.4 percent strikeout rate in April. Rotowire.com Friday, 12:43 pm

    • Two more steals in win
Thomas went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and a run scored in Thursday's win over Atlanta.

Advice: Thomas reached base and stole second in each of his first two trips to the plate while also coming around to score a run in the latter at-bat. The outfielder has been on a tear since returning from the injured list and is now batting .353 (6-for-17) through four games in May with three RBI, four stolen bases and four runs scored, swiping a pair of bags in back-to-back contests. • Lane Thomas swipes two bags in win over ATL
Lane Thomas stole two bases and scored a run in a victory over Atlanta on Thursday.

Advice: Thomas continues to be one of the better stolen-base threats in the sport, and it’s worth pointing out that his 15 swipes have come in just 26 games. The speed has been there for the 28-year-old. Now, about that .212/.278/.327 slash line. Those numbers should continue to get better, but in the meantime, he’s definitely helping fantasy managers in one category. Rotoworld Thursday, 7:00 pm

    • IL stint expected to be brief
Red Sox manager Alex Cora said Thursday that he's optimistic O'Neill's (knee) stay on the 10-day injured list will be a short one, Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald reports.

Advice: O'Neill landed on the IL on Wednesday with right knee inflammation, an injury that he had been playing with for a while. While Cora didn't exactly commit to O'Neill requiring just the minimum 10-day absence, it does not appear he will be out long. He's eligible for activation June 5. Rob Refsnyder appears most likely to soak up the bulk of the playing time at designated hitter while O'Neill is out, although the Red Sox have Connor Wong at DH and Reese McGuire at catcher Thursday versus the Tigers. • Stuffs stat sheet in victory
Thomas went 3-for-4 with a three-run home run, an additional run, a double, a walk and two stolen bases in Wednesday's 7-2 win against Atlanta.

Advice: Washington was being shut out by rookie hurler Spencer Schwellenbach until Thomas tagged him for a three-run homer in the fifth inning. That was the biggest highlight of a very productive performance by the outfielder, who added a couple cherries on top with a pair of steals in the ninth frame. This was Thomas' third game back since missing over a month while on the injured list, and he's gone 5-for-13 with four extra-base hits since his return. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 10:20 pm
