    • Provides winning hit
Steer went 1-for-5 with a home run and two RBI in Wednesday's 12-7 win over the Rockies.

Advice: Steer's two-run shot in the top of the ninth plated the tying and go-ahead runs for the Reds, who swept the Rockies in Colorado for the first time since 2012. He's cranked it up to start the new month with hits in five straight games, going 11-for-23 with a home run, two doubles and five RBI. Rotowire.com Today, 6:19 am

    • Yields five runs
Taillon allowed five runs on 10 hits and a walk while striking out six over five innings in a no-decision versus the White Sox.

Advice: Taillon gave up a leadoff home run to Corey Julks and then surrendered four more runs in the fourth inning. The Cubs were able to cover the damage for Taillon, allowing him to escape with a third straight no-decision. The right-hander has given up at least three runs in his last four starts and now has a 3.47 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 35:13 K:BB over 49.1 innings through nine outings on the year. He's projected to make his next start on the road versus the Rays. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:17 pm
    • Rocked by Pirates
Paxton (5-1) took the loss Wednesday, allowing seven runs (six earned) on six hits and two walks across 1.2 innings against Pittsburgh. He struck out two.

Advice: Paxton retired the side in the first inning but endured a nightmare second frame. He gave up a walk, three singles and a double to the first five batters he faced as part of a seven-run inning by the Pirates that Paxton didn't finish. The veteran lefty has been shaky over his last four starts, surrendering 15 runs over 15.1 innings while allowing multiple homers in two of those outings and Wednesday's start ballooned Paxton's ERA from 3.29 to 4.19. He'll look to get back on track with a scheduled start against the Rangers on Tuesday. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:42 pm
    • Jameson Taillon surrenders five runs vs. White Sox
Jameson Taillon allowed five runs with six strikeouts over five innings in a no-decision against the White Sox on Wednesday.

Advice: Taillon served up a solo homer to Corey Julks to start the game in the first inning. He worked through a pair of scoreless inning before the White Sox brought four more runs in to score in the fourth on six base hits. Taillon would remain to toss one more frame, ending his day after five innings at 75 pitches. The 32-year-old right-hander will carry a 3.47 ERA, 1.36 WHIP, and a 35/13 K/BB ratio across 49 1/3 innings into a start against the Rays in Tampa Bay on Tuesday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:12 pm
    • James Paxton lit up by Pirates in first loss
James Paxton was lit up for seven runs — six earned — in 1 2/3 innings by the Pirates on Wednesday.

Advice: It went as Paxton’s first loss after five wins to begin the season, but the left-hander simply hasn’t thrown very well for weeks now. With Bobby Miller on the way back, it might be time for the Dodgers to stash Paxton on the IL for a month and see if the break helps his stuff at all. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:59 pm
    • Spencer Steer slugs go-ahead homer vs. Rockies
Spencer Steer walloped a go-ahead two-run homer in the ninth inning on Wednesday in the Reds’ comeback win over the Rockies.

Advice: Steer was the hero on Wednesday afternoon at Coors Field for Cincinnati as he delivered a clutch go-ahead homer off Rockies closer Jalen Beeks with the Reds down to their final out. It was his seventh round-tripper of the season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:31 pm

    • J.T. Realmuto out of lineup for Wednesday’s game
J.T. Realmuto, who was pretty well beaten up in Tuesday’s game against the Brewers, is absent from Wednesday’s lineup.

Advice: It’s also a day game after a night game, but we imagine he still would have been in there today if he hadn’t taken quite a bit of damage Tuesday, particularly since the Phillies aren’t playing the next two days as they travel to London. Garrett Stubbs is catching today. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:31 am

    • Day off Wednesday
Realmuto is out of the lineup for Wednesday's contest versus the Brewers.

Advice: The Phillies and Brewers are playing a day game Wednesday after Realmuto caught all 10 innings of a 2-1 win Tuesday, so he appears to be getting some rest in the series finale. Garrett Stubbs will start behind the dish for the Phillies on Wednesday as they go for the sweep of Milwaukee. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:28 am

    • Glasnow takes tough luck loss against Pirates
Tyler Glasnow allowed one run on three hits over six innings in a loss to the Pirates on Tuesday.

Advice: Glasnow allowed a solo home run to Jack Suwinski in the third inning and that was all the Pirates needed to earn a win behind a strong performance from Jared Jones. Glasnow was also great on Tuesday with two walks, nine strikeouts, and 13 whiffs on 40 swings for a 33 percent whiff rate and 35 percent CSW. The right-hander has been healthy all year and dominant on the mound with a 2.93 ERA heading into a tough start against the Yankees this weekend. Rotoworld Tuesday, 6:43 pm
