    • Jose Miranda notches hits in 10 straight at-bats
Jose Miranda finished 4-for-4 with a homer, a double and three runs scored Friday against the Astros.

Advice: Incredibly, the Twins pinch-hit for Miranda in the ninth, even though he had delivered hits in 10 consecutive at-bats, and it worked, as Austin Martin singled off Luis Contreras. Still, the Twins went on to lose anyway, Miranda is 25-for-50 in his last 13 games, raising his average from .277 to .324 and his OPS from .778 to .893. Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:53 pm

    • Jurickson Profar ties game with solo blast in 9th
Jurickson Profar hit a game-tying homer in the ninth to help the Padres to a victory on Friday over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Profar tied the game at 8-8 with a homer off Paul Sewald in the bottom of the ninth. The 31-year-old continues to impress in his breakout campaign with a .316/.409/.490 slash along with 13 homers and 57 RBI. Just like we all expected. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:59 pm
    • Ceddanne Rafaela homers in 10th to lead Red Sox
After Masataka Yoshida’s homer tied it in the ninth, Ceddanne Rafaela hit a two-run homer in the 10th to propel the Red Sox past the Yankees 5-3 on Friday.

Advice: Yoshida hit a game-tying homer off Clay Holmes, and Rafaela followed with a go-ahead blast off Tommy Kahnle in the 10th. It was Rafaela’s 10th homer, which is impressive for a 23-year-old with such middling exit velocity numbers. Better plate discipline would be nice, but since Rafaela has proved adept at shortstop and in center field, he seems like a long to become a long-term regular. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:58 pm

    • Clay Holmes blows save by giving up homer
Clay Holmes took his fifth blown save after giving up a game-tying two-run homer Friday against the Red Sox.

Advice: Holmes retired the first two batters he faced, but then a single and a homer ruined his night. The homer, a 405-foot blast from Masataka Yoshida, was just the second he’s allowed in 36 innings this season. He’s been stuck on 19 saves since June 9, and while that’s mostly the fault of his teammates, he has given up runs in five of his last seven appearances. Even though Holmes is almost certainly one of the game’s 15- or 20-best relievers, there is the chance that the Yankees will supplant him in the closer’s role at the trade deadline. • Secures 14th save
Munoz pitched a perfect inning to earn the save in Friday's 2-1 win over the Blue Jays.

Advice: This was Munoz's first save since June 18 -- he blew a save June 24, which was his only opportunity over his last five appearances. The right-hander has seen the most high-leverage spots rather than being strictly confined to the ninth inning. He faced the 9-1-2 hitters Friday to earn his 14th save in 16 chances this year. Munoz has added a 1.54 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 43:14 K:BB across 35 innings while adding six holds. With Munoz's usage being more flexible, Ryne Stanek has forced his way into the closer conversation, though the Mariners' recent poor play hasn't led to many save chances for either reliever. • Andrés Muñoz nails down save against Blue Jays
Andrés Muñoz didn’t allow a hit while picking up a save against the Blue Jays on Friday.

Advice: Muñoz got all three outs on the ground. He hasn’t missed bats at the elite level he did the last two years, but he’s been effective regardless with a miniscule 1.56 ERA and 14 saves. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:13 pm
    • Sets franchise record in loss
Miranda went 4-for-4 with a homer, a double, two RBI and three runs scored in Friday's 13-12 loss to the Astros.

Advice: Miranda came a triple shy of the cycle and set a Twins franchise record in the seventh inning by tallying his 10th consecutive plate appearance with a hit. The 26-year-old launched a 414-foot solo shot off Shawn Dubin earlier in the game for his ninth homer of the season. Miranda now sports a nine-game hit streak over which he's batted an absurd .559 (19-for-34) with seven extra base hits, 12 RBI and 11 runs scored. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:57 pm

    • Clay Holmes blows save against Red Sox
Clay Holmes allowed two home runs on two hits in a blown save on Friday against the Red Sox.

Advice: Holmes pushed the Red Sox to their final strike before Masataka Yoshida sent a sinker deep into the right field seats. The home run was just the second Holmes has allowed this season, matching his total from last season. It was also his fifth blown save in what’s been an up-and-down season so far. • Jeff Hoffman secures eighth save
Jeff Hoffman pitched a clean ninth inning on Friday against the Braves to earn the save. He also struck out a batter.

Advice: Hoffman could be inching his way ahead of José Alvarado in the Phillies’ bullpen pecking order. Alvarado got the eighth inning in this one with a five-run lead. That came against the top of the Braves’ lineup and Marcell Ozuna wound up taking him deep to cut the lead to two. Hoffman closed it out in the ninth inning and now has three saves in his last three appearances. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:49 pm
