• Three hits in return
Kwan went 3-for-4 with two runs scored, an RBI and a walk in Friday's win over the Nationals.

Advice: Kwan returned from the injured list after missing nearly the entire month of May but showed no signs of rust. He singled three times, including an RBI knock in the eighth inning. He's produced five multi-hit performances in his last eight appearances. Kwan owns a strong .365/.420/.504 slash line with 30 runs scored and a 12:12 BB:K through 150 plate appearances. • Released by Mets
The Mets released Choi on Friday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Choi had a June 1 opt-out in his minor-league deal with the Mets, but he'll hit the open market a day early. The 33-year-old slashed .183/.307/.317 across 101 plate appearances at Triple-A Syracuse and will likely look to sign a minor-league deal elsewhere. Rotowire.com 22 minutes ago

  • Zac Gallen diagnosed with Grade 1 hamstring strain
Diamondbacks’ manager Torey Lovullo told reporters on Friday night that Zac Gallen was diagnosed with a Grade 1 hamstring strain.

Advice: That’s obviously good news, as Grade 1 is the least severe of the strains. The 28-year-old hurler dealt with a similar injury back in 2021 and wound up missing the minimum 15 days of action. The Diamondbacks are hopeful that he’ll face a similar timeline this time as well and that he’ll be able to return to the starting rotation in mid-June when he’s eligible. • Grabs fifth save
Hoffman earned the save in Friday's 4-2 win over the Cardinals, striking out two in a perfect ninth inning.

Advice: Hoffman continues to impress in a late-inning role with the Phillies -- he's allowed just one earned run in his last 19.1 innings. The 31-year-old right-hander's ERA is down to 1.09 on the year with a 0.97 WHIP and 32:7 K:BB across 24.2 innings. Hoffman's up to five saves with seven holds on the campaign. • Mark Canha undergoes additional testing on hip
Tigers manager A.J. Hinch told reporters after Friday’s loss to the Red Sox that Mark Canha underwent additional testing on his injured left hip.

Advice: Canha was a late scratch from Friday’s lineup with the hip issue — which apparently has been bothering him for some time now and finally told the Tigers that he couldn’t play through it any longer. We’ll wait and see what the test results yield, but there’s a chance that the 35-year-old outfielder may wind up on the injured list. Rotoworld 30 minutes ago

  • Davis Schneider walks it off for Blue Jays
Davis Schneider went 1-for-6 with a two-run home run to win the game 5-3 for the Blue Jays over the Pirates on Friday.

Advice: It felt for a moment like this 14-inning marathon would go on forever before Schneider found the right field seats in Toronto. He’s now a fixture at lead-off and one of the few bright spots in what’s otherwise been a bleak season for the Blue Jays. The homer was Schneider’s seventh along with three stolen bases and an .824 OPS. Rotoworld 32 minutes ago

  • Nick Gonzales with two more hits
Nick Gonzales went 2-for-5 with a run scored against the Blue Jays on Friday.

Advice: Gonzales has been a welcome surprise so far this season slashing .319/.377/.536 across 19 games. His nearly 17% barrel rate would be one of the best in the league if he were a qualified hitter and he should remain a regular for the offensively starved Pirates. Rotoworld 33 minutes ago

  • Craig Kimbrel nabs 13th save
Craig Kimbrel struck out two in a scoreless ninth inning in a win over the Rays on Friday.

Advice: Kimbrel’s fantastic season continued Friday with an overpowering ninth inning. The save tied him with Raisel Iglesias for the sixth-most in the league as he’s turned black the clock so far this year. Rotoworld Today, 7:28 pm
  • Albert Suárez strikes out five in five innings
Albert Suárez allowed one earned run across five innings on Friday against the Rays. He allowed four hits, two walks, and struck out five in a no-decision.

Advice: Suárez was solid in this one, keeping the Rays at bay besides for a Richie Palacios double followed by a Ben Rortvedt RBI single in the second inning. Notably, Suárez showed off a true four-pitch mix for the first time this season throwing his fastball, cutter, changeup, and curveball at least 13% of the time. There is space in the Orioles’ rotation and Suárez successfully expanding his repertoire could help him hold a spot. Rotoworld Today, 7:27 pm
