    • Undergoes MRI on Saturday
Kirby underwent an MRI on his right knee Saturday after being removed early from his start against the Astros on Friday, but the results are still pending, MLB.com reports.

Advice: Kirby's night ended Friday after a relatively modest 88 pitches due to the lingering right knee issue, which he conceded after the game he'd been dealing with "for the last couple of weeks." The general feeling after the game was he would be able to make his next start without issue, but manager Scott Servais said Kirby was sent for an MRI "just to make sure we're treating it the right way." Servais confirmed Kirby's arm felt good and added that he still expected the talented right-hander to make his next scheduled start, which is slated for Wednesday at Target Field against the Twins. • Wyatt Langford exits game with leg injury Saturday
Wyatt Langford was removed from Saturday night’s battle against the Royals after suffering a leg injury while running to first base.

Advice: The 22-year-old phenom hit a slow tapper out in front of home plate and was much slower than usual getting to first base. The exit could have been precautionary, with the Rangers holding a big early lead in the game, but we’ll know more when they provide an update on Langford’s status. Stay tuned. • Departs with hamstring tightness
Langford exited Saturday's game against the Royals in the fifth inning due to right hamstring tightness, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Advice: Langford slowed up noticeably while trying to beat out a dribbler in front of the plate in the top of the fifth inning and was removed for defense prior to the bottom of the frame. The rookie figures to be sent for an MRI to determine the extent of the injury. Langford was hitless in three plate appearances Saturday before being lifted. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:28 pm

    • Resumes running
McCormick (hamstring) began running Saturday and could participate in batting practice within the next few days, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Manager Joe Espada said McCormick has been feeling better since tweaking his hamstring Tuesday, and the team hopes to send him on a minor-league rehab assignment "pretty soon." The 29-year-old outfielder will be eligible to return from the injured list Wednesday, though the Astros haven't indicated whether or not he'll be ready to go by then. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:51 pm

    • George Kirby undergoes precautionary MRI on knee
Mariners’ manager Scott Servais told reporters on Saturday that right-hander George Kirby underwent a precautionary MRI on his right knee.

Advice: Servais didn’t relay any results from that exam yet, but did note that he’s optimistic Kirby will be able to make his next start against the Twins on Wednesday in Minnesota. While it doesn’t sound like anything serious, the mere fact that he required an MRI has to be at least somewhat worrisome for fantasy managers. Be sure to monitor his status closely over the next couple of days. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:07 pm

    • Chas McCormick (hamstring) runs on Saturday
Chas McCormick (hamstring) did some running on the field on Saturday without any issues.

Advice: The 29-year-old outfielder is expected to be cleared to take batting practice in the next couple of days. Astros’ manager Joe Espada told reporters on Saturday that McCormick is likely to need a minor league rehab assignment before returning to the big league roster. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:03 pm

    • Spencer Torkelson moves down to seventh spot
Spencer Torkelson is hitting seventh and playing first base against the Yankees on Saturday.

Advice: Torkelson continues to move down in the lineup, and it’s easy to justify with a slash of .212/.282/.288 over 132 plate appearances. The first-overall pick in 2020 was excellent in the second-half of the 2023 campaign, but that hasn’t carried over whatsoever in 2024. Fantasy managers in redraft leagues should be searching for a potential replacement if they haven’t cut bait already. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:34 am
    • Battling knee issue
Manager Scott Servais said Friday that Kirby has been dealing with a right knee issue, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Servais added that Kirby's knee isn't considered a major problem, but it was the reason why he was pulled from his start Friday after throwing just 88 pitches through six innings. The Mariners will keep an eye on the right-hander's condition, but at the moment it appears Kirby should still be able to make his next start -- tentatively scheduled for Thursday against Minnesota. • Settles for no-decision
Kirby allowed a run on four hits over six innings during a no-decision Friday. He struck out three during a loss to Houston.

Advice: Kirby was in line for the win before Seattle's bullpen coughed up the lead. The lone run against him came on a Jeremy Pena RBI groundout in the sixth inning. Kirby was efficient Friday, throwing 60 of 88 pitches for strikes. He's allowed just one run while producing a stellar 22:2 K:BB over his last 18 frames. Of his seven starts this year, Kirby allowed two or fewer runs in five of them. However, he coughed up 13 combined runs in the other two. Kirby is currently projected to start in Minnesota next week.
