    • Takes third straight loss
Detmers (3-3) took the loss against Cleveland on Saturday, allowing seven runs on five hits and four walks while striking out seven batters over 5.2 innings.

Advice: Detmers entered the sixth inning with a quality start still in sight, as he had allowed three runs to that point. However, the left-hander got himself into trouble by walking three batters in the frame, and Bo Naylor made the hurler pay with a grand slam to blow the game open. The seven runs, three homers and four free passes were all season-worst marks for Detmers, who was tagged with his third consecutive loss. The 24-year-old looked to be on his way to a breakout campaign by posting a 1.19 ERA and 30:7 K:BB over 22.2 innings across his first four starts, but he's stumbled since, allowing 16 earned runs and recording a 14:7 K:BB over 17.2 frames in his past three outings. • Posts quality start Saturday
Suarez (6-0) collected the win Saturday versus the Giants, permitting three runs on seven hits and a walk over six innings. He struck out six.

Advice: There was a rain delay before the game and more inclement weather during the contest, but Suarez seemed undaunted as he became the first six-game winner in baseball (Tyler Glasnow joined him later Saturday). It speaks as to how well Suarez has pitched this season that this was easily his worst start since his first outing of the season when he allowed three runs in five innings. The three runs the left-hander gave up Saturday matched his total from his previous five starts. With a matchup versus the Marlins looming next week, Suarez has a good chance to keep rolling. • Ranger Suárez cruises to easy win over Giants
Ranger Suárez gave up three runs over six innings on Saturday in a win over the Giants.

Advice: Suárez was staked to a commanding nine-run advantage by the start of the third inning at a rain-soaked Citizens Bank Park, and wound up cruising to a relatively easy victory, gobbling up six frames before handing an 11-run lead over to Philadelphia’s bullpen. The 28-year-old southpaw isn’t overpowering, but he’s been extremely effective this season, allowing three earned runs or fewer in seven consecutive starts. He’ll bring a sparkling 1.72 ERA, 0.72 WHIP and 46/6 K/BB ratio across 47 innings (seven starts) into a road tilt next Saturday against the free-falling Marlins. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:15 pm
    • Folds against Cards
Fedde escaped with a no-decision Saturday in a 6-5 extra-inning win over the Cardinals, giving up five runs on four hits and five walks over 4.1 innings. He struck out two.

Advice: The right-hander blanked St. Louis for four innings despite issuing free passes in the first, second and fourth frames, but his luck ran out in the fifth. Fortunately for Fedde, the White Sox came back to tie the game up after he left the mound before winning in the 10th. Fedde threw only 48 of 91 pitches for strikes in his shortest outing of the season, and he has walked at least three batters in three of his last five starts. He'll take a 3.46 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 41:14 K:BB through 39 innings into his next outing, which lines up to come at home next week against the Guardians. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:13 pm
    • Reid Detmers serves up three homers in loss
Reid Detmers was shelled for seven runs over 5 2/3 innings on Saturday in a loss to the Guardians.

Advice: Detmers was burned by the long ball in this one as three of the five hits he surrendered wound up leaving the ball park. Serving up solo shots to Austin Hedges and Ramón Laureano, respectively was relatively harmless, but a sixth-inning grand slam from Bo Naylor was enough to saddled him with a loss. He struck out seven and also issued four walks. He’ll bring a pedestrian 4.24 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 44/14 K/BB ratio across 40 1/3 innings (seven starts) into a home outing on Thursday against the Angels. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:53 pm
    • Erick Fedde stumbles in no-decision vs. Cardinals
Erick Fedde surrendered five runs over 4 1/3 innings in a no-decision against the Cardinals on Saturday.

Advice: Fedde had worked around some traffic through four innings, stranding four baserunners. The Cardinals got to him in the fifth. A single and a walk put two runners on before Brendan Donovan doubled to score two runs. Fedde walked another batter, then served up a three-run shot to Nolan Arenado. That was it for Fedde, who ended the day with a 3.46 ERA, 1.18 WHIP, and a 41/14 K/BB ratio across 39 innings. He lines up for a matchup against the Guardians in Chicago on Thursday. • Christopher Morel continues power surge vs. Brewers
Christopher Morel went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer and a walk on Saturday against the Brewers.

Advice: After drawing a walk in the first inning, Morel took Tobias Myers deep for a two-run homer in the third to extend the Cubs lead. Morel can certainly hit homers in bunches, as he’s now gone yard in three straight games and four of his last six. The 24-year-old third baseman is slashing .213/.292/.426 with seven homers, 20 runs scored, 20 RBI, and three steals across 137 plate appearances. Despite the low batting average, Morel has significantly cut down his strikeout rate so far this season, a good sign that we can see his numbers improve as we get into the summer. • Luis Rengifo sits due to illness on Saturday
Luis Rengifo was held out of the Angels’ starting lineup on Saturday due to illness.

Advice: The versatile 27-year-old has been under the weather for a couple of days, so skipper Ron Washington thought it was best to give him a night off. Brandon Drury returned to the Angels lineup to play second base on Saturday while Ehire Adrianza will cover third base and bat second for the Halos against Ben Lively and the Guardians. • Battling illness
Rengifo is out of Saturday's lineup versus Cleveland due to an illness, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports.

Advice: Rengifo was reportedly feeling under the weather Friday as well, but he won't be able to play through his illness Saturday. Ehire Adrianza is filling in as the Angels' third baseman and could continue to do so if Rengifo is forced to miss any additional games. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:20 pm
