    • Snaps slump with long homer
Outman went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Monday's 6-3 win over Miami.

Advice: Outman was dropped to ninth in the batting order Monday after primarily batting in the No. 7 slot throughout the campaign, and he responded with his first long ball -- a 437-foot, two-run shot -- since April 9. It's been a struggle for Outman in his second full big-league campaign, as he's slashing a meager .169/.267/.303 and came into Monday having hit just .107 (3-for-28) over his previous nine contests. Outman may need to build upon Monday's homer with an extended run of success to continue to hold onto an everyday spot in the lineup, as rookie Andy Pages appears to have earned consistent playing time, Teoscar Hernandez is a staple in left field and veteran Jason Heyward (back) is getting closer to a return. • Notches fifth save
Diaz earned a save against the Cardinals on Monday, striking out one batter in a perfect ninth inning.

Advice: Diaz blew his first save of the season Sunday against Tampa Bay, but he went right back to work with the Mets holding a one-run ninth-inning lead a day later. The star closer didn't falter this time, retiring all three batters he faced on 11 pitches. The save was Diaz's fifth of the campaign and his first since April 15. • Edwin Díaz silences Cardinals to net fifth save
Edwin Díaz hurled a perfect ninth inning on Monday against the Cardinals to collect his fifth save of the season.

Advice: Díaz got the call to protect a narrow one-run margin in the final frame during Monday’s series opener at Busch Stadium and needed just 11 pitches (seven strikes) to slam the door. He struck out Alec Burleson before coaxing ground outs from Brendan Donovan and Masyn Winn to end the contest. He’s converted five of his six save chances this season to go along with a 2.45 ERA, 0.82 WHIP and sparkling 22/4 K/BB ratio across 14 2/3 innings (14 appearances) this season. • Batting ninth Monday
Outman will start in center field and bat ninth in Monday's game versus the Marlins.

Advice: Outman has mostly batted seventh this season, but he hit eighth in his last two starts and is now down in the nine spot for the first time since July of 2023. He entered play Monday hitting just .107/.219/.143 across his last nine contests. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:25 pm

    • Hits bench for series opener
Siri is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the White Sox, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Advice: While starting both of the Rays' last two games after serving a two-game suspension, Siri went 0-for-5 with two strikeouts and committed an error. With his average now sitting at .176 through 31 games this season and with his defense grading out poorly compared to the previous two years, Siri's standing atop the depth chart in center field could be on shaky ground. Jonny DeLuca will draw the start in center Monday after previously manning right field alongside Siri the past two days. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:22 pm

    • Jose Siri is not starting with Josh Lowe back
Jose Siri is not in the starting lineup on Monday against the White Sox.

Advice: Josh Lowe is starting in center field in his first game off the IL, but Jonny DeLuca will shift to center field and bat 9th. Both DeLuca and Siri are right-handed hitters and are facing a right-handed pitcher, so this seems like a sign that DeLuca could get a real shot to take the Rays’ center field job. Siri’s playing time had always been linked to his strong defense; however, DeLuca is also a strong defensive outfielder and might have more offensive upside. The Rays certainly like him since they made him part of the return from the Dodgers in the Tyler Glasnow trade this offseason. Now might be the time to stash DeLuca in deeper formats in case he wins this job. Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:59 am

    • Facing four-week absence
The Guardians expect Kwan to miss approximately four weeks after placing him on the 10-day injured list earlier Monday with an acute left hamstring strain, Zack Meisel of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Kwan was diagnosed with the acute hamstring strain after undergoing an MRI following his early exit from Saturday's 7-1 win over the Angels. With imaging determining that he sustained more than a mild injury, Kwan will be sidelined well beyond the minimum 10 days, and a more precise return date likely won't come into focus until he reaches the point in his rehab where he's performing baseball activities. The Guardians are likely to turn to Estevan Florial, Ramon Laureano and Gabriel Arias to fill in for Kwan in the corner outfield, while prospect Kyle Manzardo was promoted from Triple-A Columbus on Monday and should take on an everyday role at designated hitter for at least the next few weeks. • Guardians place Steven Kwan on IL
Guardians placed Steven Kwan (hamstring) on the 10-day IL.

Advice: Kwan left Saturday’s game because of tightness in the hamstring, and did not start in Sunday’s finale against the Angels. Kwan has mentioned battling hamstring injuries in theoast, so both he and the Guardians want to be cautious in this instance. Kyle Manzardo was called up from Triple-A Columbus in a corresponding move. Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:26 am

    • Heads to 10-day IL
The Guardians placed Kwan on the 10-day injured list Monday with a left hamstring strain.

Advice: Cleveland hasn't disclosed the grade of Kwan's hamstring strain, which he suffered in Saturday's 7-1 win over the Angels. The injury forced him to miss his second game of the season Sunday, and he'll be sidelined through at least May 14 as a result of landing on the IL. The Guardians called up prospect Kyle Manzardo from Triple-A Columbus to take over Kwan's spot on the 26-man active roster, and Manzardo should also inherit an everyday role while the 26-year-old outfielder is on the shelf. Manzardo will serve as the Guardians' designated hitter in Monday's series opener versus the Tigers and will hit seventh, while Estevan Florial will fill in for Kwan in left field and atop the batting order.
