Craig Kimbrel perfect in return to closer’s role
Getting a chance to close for the first time since May 8, Craig Kimbrel struck out two in a perfect ninth Sunday against the Mariners.
Advice: This was truly easing him back into the closer’s role; not only did he have a three-run lead, but he was getting the bottom third of the Mariners lineup. Kimbrel has allowed just one batter to reach in four scoreless innings since his May 8 outing knocked him out of the closer’s role for a spell. He’ll likely be the primary guy for now, though it’d be best if he could go a couple of more weeks without any miscues.
