• Swats first homer of season
Massey went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's 4-1 win over the Blue Jays.

Advice: Massey has hit safely in four straight games, going 4-for-14 with three RBI and three runs scored. The 26-year-old is seeing a majority of the playing time at second base since he returned from a back injury that shelved him for a month. Massey is batting .212 with one homer, five RBI, five runs scored and no stolen bases through 10 contests. Barring a deep slump, Massey should continue to play more frequently than Adam Frazier at second base, though Frazier has also gotten looks in the corner outfield spots and at designated hitter. • Smacks first homer
Singleton went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run, a walk and two runs scored Tuesday against the Guardians.

Advice: Singleton was perhaps surprisingly in the lineup and starting at first base despite the promotion of Joey Loperfido. Singleton began his day with a walk before coming around to score in the third inning, and he followed that up one plate appearance later with his first home run of the campaign. He has the chance to see additional at-bats at first base with Jose Abreu demoted to the minors and Loperfido picking up at least some starts in the outfield. However, for Singleton to maintain regular plate appearances, he'll need to improve upon his .239/.327/.348 line. Rotowire.com 40 minutes ago
  • Collects five hits in twin bill
Goldschmidt went 5-for-9 with a double and two runs scored in Tuesday's doubleheader split versus the Tigers.

Advice: Goldschmidt had not collected five hits over any two-game span this season prior to Tuesday. Even with the strong performance, the first baseman is slashing a mediocre .236/.323/.318 with two home runs, 11 RBI, 14 runs scored, three doubles and a stolen base over 29 contests. Goldschmidt has yet to lose playing time amid his slow start, but that could change once the Cardinals get players like Dylan Carlson (shoulder), Tommy Edman (wrist) and Matt Carpenter (oblique) back from the injured list. On the positive side, Goldschmidt has hit safely in eight of his last 10 games, so he may be turning things around enough to maintain his place in the lineup. Rotowire.com 42 minutes ago
  • Goes deep in nightcap
Donovan went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run in an 11-6 loss to the Tigers in the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader.

Advice: Donovan sparked the Cardinals' fifth-inning rally with his homer. The utility man had hit safely in five straight games before going 0-for-4 in the matinee contest. Donovan is slashing .228/.311/.377 with three homers, 16 RBI, 13 runs scored and no stolen bases over 132 plate appearances this season. He remains the Cardinals' preferred leadoff batter and left fielder despite his mediocre hitting so far. Rotowire.com 45 minutes ago

  • Johan Rojas delivers ninth-inning homer in victory
Johan Rojas hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth to lead the Phillies past the Angels 7-5 on Tuesday.

Advice: Nick Castellanos had already tied the game with a solo shot before Rojas provided the difference maker. It was Rojas’s first homer in 91 plate appearances this season. Fortunately, he’s continued to play his usual excellent defense, and Whit Merrifield hasn’t been able to force his way into the lineup. Rojas isn’t a mixed-league guy right now, but with his ability to steal bases, he doesn’t need to be all that much better offensively to get to that kind of level. Rotoworld 47 minutes ago
  • Spencer Turnbull solid for 5 1/3 innings
Spencer Turnbull yielded two runs — one earned — in 5 1/3 innings Tuesday in a no-decision against the Angels.

Advice: This will likely be Turnbull’s final start for a while, as Taijuan Walker’s return has restored the Phillies’ planned rotation. Still, Turnbull seems like a better bet than Walker going forward, and while it’s unlikely that he’d hold up over the course of 32 starts, he might be a fantasy factor again later this year. For now, he’s probably droppable in shallow mixed leagues. Rotoworld 47 minutes ago
  • Another strong start
Turnbull didn't factor into the decision Tuesday, allowing two runs (one earned) on four hits and no walks over 5.1 innings against the Angels. He struck out six.

Advice: The only run charged against Turnbull came in the third inning when Zach Neto tagged him for a solo homer. The 31-year-old hasn't allowed more than four hits in a game this season and with the Phillies expected to trim their six-man rotation back to five now that Taijuan Walker is healthy, Turnbull has certainly made a case for maintaining a starting role. However, after dealing with severe injuries in 2022 and 2023, the Phillies could look to watch his workload early in hopes of keeping him fresh throughout the long season. If Turnbull sticks in the rotation, he'd likely toe the rubber early next week, either catching the series finale against the Giants or the series opener against Toronto. • Bregman hits first homer of season vs. Guardians
Alex Bregman went 1-for-5 with a home run and three RBI in Tuesday’s win over the Guardians.

Advice: The Astros found themselves down 3-0 after the first inning, but Bregman’s 426-foot blast, which marked his first homer of the season, drew things even at 3-3. It’s been a slow start to the season for Bregman, who entered the day slashing .216/.287/.268. He’s hit safely in four of his last five games and could be on the verge of finally heating up. Getting that first home run out of the way is hopefully a step in the right direction. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:45 pm

  • Andres Giménez hits first homer of 2024 vs. Astros
Andrés Giménez went 2-for-5 with a home run, two RBI, and two runs scored in Tuesday’s loss to the Astros.

Advice: Giménez hit his first home run of the season on Tuesday when he took Cade Smith deep to right for a two-run bomb. Giménez closes out the first month of the season with a line of .280/.347/.374 to go with one homer, 17 RBI, and 17 runs scored. While he doesn’t provide much power, Giménez is providing plenty as far as scoring and driving in runs are concerned. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:35 pm
