      Advice: It's the first time Rodriguez has thrown off a mound since he landed on the 15-day injured list a week ago with right shoulder inflammation.       José Soriano allowed four runs in 4 2/3 innings Wednesday in a no-decision against the Pirates.

      Advice: Soriano struck out six and opened up with 4 1/3 scoreless innings before a double snapped a streak of nine straight batters retired. He got one more out immediately afterwards, but he then walked two, gave up a three-run double to Oneil Cruz and an RBI single to Connor Joe, which ended his day. There’s a great deal to like about Soriano’s stuff, but considering that he never worked as a starter above A-ball coming into this season, he’s not at all a finished product.       Advice: Finnegan has been one of the most reliable closers in the big leagues this season, and he now leads the majors after picking up his 12th save Tuesday.       Williams (4-0) secured the win Tuesday versus the Orioles after throwing five scoreless innings and striking out eight batters while surrendering two hits.

      Advice: Williams was carving up the Orioles' lineup Tuesday, striking out eight of the first 15 batters he faced while allowing only one baserunner -- a single from Adley Rutschman. Williams likely could have remained in the game longer; however, the Nationals seem determined to keep him limited to roughly 80 pitches per start this season.       Berrios (4-3) took the loss Tuesday against Philadelphia, surrendering eight earned runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out seven batters across 3.2 innings.

      Advice: Berrios had trouble locating the strike zone Tuesday and often found himself working with a lot of traffic on the basepaths, which were twice cleared by home runs. He was able to strike out batters at a notable rate, matching his season high in roughly half the innings, but he was immediately pulled after Bryce Harper's fourth-inning grand slam made it an 8-0 game. Despite Berrios' ugly performance Tuesday, he still holds a 2.85 ERA and 1.12 WHIP through his first eight starts, and he'll get a chance to bounce back against the Orioles on Sunday.       Rutschman went 1-for-4 with a stolen base in Tuesday's 3-0 loss to the Nationals.

      Advice: Rutschman had one of the Orioles' three hits in Tuesday's loss. He's gone 8-for-25 (.320) with four extra-base hits and four RBI over six games in May. Rutschman's steal was his first of the year -- speed is the one tool that doesn't show up much in his game. He's still putting together another excellent season with a .322/.359/.469 slash line, five home runs, 22 RBI and 20 runs scored over 34 contests, even with a walk rate at a career-low 5.3 percent.       Advice: After ending April with three straight multi-hit efforts, Gimenez has gone a mere 5-for-26 over seven contests to begin May. The steal was his first since April 28. The second baseman is at a .263/.333/.353 slash line through 151 plate appearances, but he's mustered just nine extra-base hits, including only one homer, after logging 15 long balls, 27 doubles and five triples in 153 games a year ago.
