    • Kyle Finnegan notches 12th save of the season
Kyle Finnegan recorded his 12th save of the season in Tuesday’s win over the Orioles.

Advice: Finnegan pitched a perfect ninth inning to close out the Orioles in the 3-0 win. The Nationals closer is now 12-of-13 in save opportunities this season and is a perfect 3-for-3 in save opportunities this month. He and the Nationals will look to record a two-game sweep of the Orioles in the short series on Wednesday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:14 pm
    • Tosses scoreless frame
Jansen pitched one scoreless inning, allowing one hit in Sunday's 9-2 win over the Twins.

Advice: Jansen was locked into appearing in Sunday's contest no matter what, and he worked around an error by his defense and a single for a scoreless ninth inning. The 36-year-old is firmly locked into being Boston's closer in 2024, posting a 1.69 ERA and 1.22 WHIP with 14 strikeouts over 10.2 innings in 11 appearances while going 5-for-6 on save opportunities so far. • Slams door for 11th save
Finnegan walked one batter during one scoreless inning to pick up the save Sunday against the Blue Jays.

Advice: Finnegan has not allowed an earned run over his last 13 appearances and converted his 10th straight save opportunity for the surprising Nationals, who moved to .500 on the season with the win. Finnegan now carries a 1.88 ERA and 0.91 WHIP with his 11 total saves, matching Clay Holmes and Ryan Helsley for the major-league lead in that department. Rotowire.com Sunday, 5:30 pm
    • Will pitch Sunday
Jansen, who hasn't pitched the last six days, will be used in Sunday's game against the Twins, Peter Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.

Advice: The Red Sox have a day off Monday and will prevent Jansen from the absence extending any further, so the closer is expected to pitch one way or another. He's pitched just once over the last nine days. Rotowire.com Sunday, 10:37 am

    • Secures first win
Soriano (1-4) earned the win Friday against the Guardians, surrendering five hits and a walk while striking out three batters across six scoreless innings.

Advice: Friday was a much-needed bounce-back outing for Soriano, who gave up four runs in 1.2 innings during his previous start against Minnesota. He rarely found himself in trouble versus Cleveland aside from the fifth inning, when the Guardians had runners on second and third base with one out, but a well-timed groundout followed by a walk and a strikeout allowed Soriano to maintain his shutout. He'll carry a 3.77 ERA and 1.29 WHIP heading into his next projected start Wednesday in Pittsburgh. Rotowire.com Saturday, 7:36 am

    • José Soriano fires six scoreless to beat Guardians
José Soriano delivered a strong performance in Friday night’s victory over the Guardians, allowing just five hits over six innings of shutout baseball.

Advice: The 25-year-old hurler punched out three batters on the evening while allowing one base on balls. All five of the hits that he allowed were singles. The only real threat against him came in the fifth inning as the Guardians put runners at first and third with one out, but he got Brayan Rocchio on a comebacker to the mound and ultimately retired Andres Gimenez on strikes to end the threat. Soriano got 10 whiffs on 88 pitches on the night, posting a CSW of 26 percent. He’ll attempt to further improve upon his 3.77 ERA and 1.29 WHIP when he does battle against the Pirates in Pittsburgh on Wednesday. Rotoworld Friday, 8:33 pm

    • Strikes out side for 10th save
Finnegan picked up the save over the Rangers on Wednesday, striking out the side in a perfect ninth inning.

Advice: The right-hander took over in the bottom of the ninth with a 1-0 lead and ran right through the Rangers lineup, retiring all three batters on swinging strikeouts to secure his 10th save of the season, tying him with Ryan Helsley, Robert Suarez and Clay Holmes for the league lead. Finnegan has successfully converted each of his last nine save attempts and hasn't allowed a hit over his last eight appearances (spanning eight innings), posting a 9:1 K:BB over that stretch. Wednesday also marked his first time this season in which he struck out the side. Rotowire.com Thursday, 3:55 am
    • Kyle Finnegan strikes out the side for 10th save
Kyle Finnegan struck out the side in a scoreless ninth inning to earn the save against the Rangers on Wednesday.

Advice: Finnegan was called on to close out the game with a one-run lead over the Rangers in the ninth inning. He shut the door on Texas, striking out the side on 13 pitches for his tenth save of the season. Rotoworld Wednesday, 7:27 pm
    • Secures win over Cubs
Jansen (1-0) got the win over the Cubs on Sunday, pitching a perfect inning while striking out a batter in the process.

Advice: Jansen entered in the ninth with the score tied 4-4 and did his job by retiring the side in order in 10 pitches. He would wind up with his first win of the campaign after the Red Sox walked it off in the bottom of the inning. Jansen has now pitched three consecutive scoreless outings after blowing a save chance April 16. For the year, he owns a 1.86 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 14:8 K:BB in 9.2 innings to go along with five saves.
