    • Abrams has three-hit game Saturday
CJ Abrams went 3-for-5 with a run scored and an RBI against the Phillies on Saturday.

Advice: Abrams scored the first run of the game on Joey Meneses’ RBI single in the first inning and gave the Nationals a 2-1 lead with an RBI single of his own in the fifth inning. He has struggled since his hot start to the season, but has his average up to .271 after the three hits on Saturday. Abrams is certainly hitting better than he did last season when he hit .245 with less power. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:40 pm

    • Finnegan blows save against the Phillies
Kyle Finnegan blew his second save of the season against the Phillies on Saturday.

Advice: Finnegan had two outs in the bottom of the ninth when he allowed a game-tying solo home run to Kody Clemens. Finnegan took the loss as he allowed another run on a game-winning sacrifice fly by Bryce Harper in the 10th inning. He entered play Saturday leading the league with 13 saves, but he was probably due to give up some runs as his ERA is 1.89 but his xFIP is significantly higher at 3.72.

    • Fans career-high 14 in win
Gil (5-1) picked up the win Saturday, allowing one run on five hits and a walk over six innings in a 6-1 victory over the White Sox. He struck out 14.

Advice: The 25-year-old right-hander set a new career high in Ks -- in fact, Gil had never struck out more than nine batters in a big-league start before. He generated an incredible 22 swinging strikes among his 98 pitches, and 40 combined called/swinging strikes, as he produced his fourth straight quality start and won his fifth straight decision. Gil is having a breakout campaign, and he'll take a 2.39 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 62:27 K:BB through 49 innings into his next outing, which lines up to come at home next week against the Mariners. • Devin Williams (back) plays catch on Saturday
Devin Williams (back) played catch on Saturday without any issues.

Advice: It’s the first time that the 29-year-old right-hander has thrown since being shut down in spring training due to a pair of stress fractures in his back. He isn’t expected to rejoin the Brewers’ bullpen until mid-July — that’s if everything goes smoothly in his throwing progression — but the fact that he has a ball in his hand once again is obviously an encouraging sign. • Plays catch Saturday
Williams (back) played catch before Saturday's game against the Astros, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Advice: Saturday marks the first time Williams has done any sort of throwing since being shut down during spring training due to multiple stress fractures in his back. The 29-year-old closer still has a long way to go before the Brewers can think about sending him out on a minor-league rehab assignment, but he is certainly trending in the right direction. He's expected to rejoin Milwaukee's bullpen near the All-Star break. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:15 pm

    • Vladimir Guerrero Jr. collects three hits Saturday
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. went 3-for-4 with a double, a run scored, and an RBI against the Rays on Saturday.

Advice: Guerrero Jr. doubled to lead off the fourth inning against Zach Eflin and came around to score on a single by George Springer. He added a run to the board for Toronto with an RBI-single in the fifth and led off the bottom of the eighth with his third hit of the day. The 25-year-old first baseman is hitting .280/.373/.393 with four homers and 20 RBI across 193 plate appearances. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:59 pm
    • Christopher Morel walks off the Cubs on Saturday
Christopher Morel went 1-for-3, driving in the winning run in the Cubs’ 1-0 win over the Pirates on Saturday.

Advice: The Cubs and Pirates were scoreless going into the bottom of the ninth in what turned out to be a pitcher’s duel. Cody Bellinger reached scoring position with a one-out double off David Bednar. Morel followed with a base hit to walk it off, bringing Bellinger home for the winning run. The 24-year-old slugger is hitting .217/.300/.416 with nine homers, 32 RBI, and four steals across 190 plate appearances. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:38 pm

    • Luis Gil fans 14 in dominant win vs. White Sox
Luis Gil allowed one run with 14 strikeouts over six innings in a win over the White Sox on Saturday.

Advice: Gil turned in a dominant performance after a shaky first inning. Two base hits, a double, and a walk brought a run in to score and loaded the bases before Gil struck out the final batter to end the opening frame. He allowed just two more hits across five more scoreless innings, striking out a career-high 14 batters on 22 whiffs. The 25-year-old right-hander ends the day with an impressive 2.39 ERA, 1.08 WHIP, and a 62/27 K/BB ratio across 49 innings. Gil is in line for a start against the Mariners in New York on Thursday. • Steven Kwan (hamstring) takes BP on Friday
Steven Kwan (hamstring) took batting practice on Friday.

Advice: Kwan has resumed baseball activities and is progressing well, according to Guardians manager Stephen Vogt. The 26-year-old contact-oriented outfielder remains without a firm return timetable, but it sounds like he could return to Cleveland’s lineup before the end of the month following a minor league rehab assignment.
