• Goes deep, walks twice
Schanuel went 1-for-2 with a solo homer, two walks and two runs scored in Sunday's loss to the Giants.

Advice: Schanuel belted a solo shot in the second inning for his seventh home run of the year and third in his last 10 games. However, he's gone just 8-for-34 (.235) during that span. Sunday was Schanuel's third straight game with multiple walks. He's now slashing .219/.301/.348 with 13 extra-base hits and 23 RBI through 63 games. Rotowire.com Sunday, 6:36 pm
  • Nolan Schanuel hits eighth homer versus Giants
Nolan Schanuel hit his eighth homer and walked twice against the Giants on Sunday.

Advice: The homer was projected at 410 feet, which was pretty stunning. As Baseball America’s JJ Cooper pointed out, this appears to be Schanuel’s first 400-foot flyball as a pro. Among major leaguers this year, Schanuel is in the first percentile in bat speed, the third percentile in hard-hit rate and the fifth percentile in average exit velocity. His previous long fly this year was 387 feet. It’s notable, though, that all four of his longest flies have come in June. It’s also notable that, in spite of that extreme lack of bat speed, he has more homers than Julio Rodríguez, Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Manny Machado, Austin Riley, Nolan Arenado and many others. • Andrew Vaughn plates three runs in loss to D’Backs
Andrew Vaughn went 3-for-5 and drove in three runs on Sunday afternoon in a lopsided loss to the Diamondbacks in Arizona.

Advice: Vaughn got the White Sox on the board with an RBI groundout in the third inning that made it a 3-1 ballgame. He then tacked on a two-run single in the ninth that pulled the White Sox to within eight runs at 12-4. With his three-hit attack, the 26-year-old slugger is now slashing .234/.289/.391 to go along with nine homers, 31 RBI and one stolen base on the season. Rotoworld Sunday, 5:12 pm
  • Hitting bench Sunday
Montero is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Pirates.

Advice: Montero will get a break for the series finale after he had started in each of the Rockies' last four games while going 2-for-13 with a double, two walks, two runs and one RBI. Though he's maintaining a lowly .554 OPS for the season, Montero could hold down a near-everyday role until the banged-up Rockies get some of their hitters back from the injured list. • Takes seat for first game Sunday
Brown is not in the lineup for the first game of Sunday's doubleheader against the Twins.

Advice: Brown is in a bad way at the plate -- he's just 3-for-his-last-35 -- but regardless he should be back in there to face right-hander Chris Paddack in the second game of the twin bill. Daz Cameron will get the start in right field in the matinee. Rotowire.com Sunday, 8:56 am

  • Another big performance
Vaughn went 2-for-5 with a home run and three RBI in Saturday's win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Vaughn drove home Chicago's first run of the game with an RBI single in the third before adding a two-run shot in the fifth, boosting the team's lead to three runs. It marked the first baseman's fifth long ball in his last 10 games, and he's now batting .340 in June with nine RBI and 11 runs scored. Vaughn has also recorded multiple hits in four of his last six contests. Rotowire.com Sunday, 8:00 am
  • Remains hot in loss
Candelario went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI in Saturday's 3-1 loss to the Brewers.

Advice: Candelario had two of Cincinnati's five hits, including a ninth-inning double that plated the club's lone run. The once-struggling infielder is having himself a June, going 20-for-56 (.357) with six home runs, four doubles and 14 RBI through 13 games. Rotowire.com Sunday, 6:00 am

  • Andrew Vaughn homers again in rout of D-Backs
Andrew Vaughn went 2-for-5 with a homer and three RBI Saturday in a win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: It’s been a fantastic June for Vaughn, even with the White Sox playing at an absolutely abhorrent level. The 26-year-old hit a two-run blast off Bryce Jarvis in the fifth, and the first baseman drove in another run with a single two innings earlier. Vaughn ended May with a .577 OPS, and the current slash of .227/.283/.386 helps tell the story of how good he’s been since. Rotoworld Saturday, 10:08 pm
  • Jeimer Candelario has two hits, RBI in loss
Jeimer Candelario went 2-for-4 with an RBI in a loss to the Brewers on Saturday.

Advice: It’s been quite a month for Candelario, who is now 20-for-56 (.357) with six home runs and 14 RBI in 13 games in June. The 30-year-old will remain a fixture in the Reds’ lineup, even when Noelvi Marte returns, and is looking to continue the progress he showed last year with the Nationals and Cubs. He shouldn’t be on waiver wires anymore. Rotoworld Saturday, 7:34 pm
