      Advice: Garcia put Washington ahead with his 378-foot, two-run home run in the second inning off Minnesota starter Pablo Lopez. The 24-year-old second baseman entered the game in a cold spell in which he hit .091 (3-for-33) over his previous nine games while battling wrist and heel ailments.     • Gilbert gets quality start and no-decision Monday
      Logan Gilbert allowed three runs in six innings and got a no-decision against the Yankees on Monday.



      Advice: Gilbert recorded only one strikeout and allowed eight hits and a walk. He battled in a tough matchup against the Yankees on the road. This was his lowest strikeout total of the season by far, but otherwise Gilbert has been fairly consistent. He’s had eight quality starts in 10 tries this season. The 27-year-old right-hander is set to face the Nationals on the road on Saturday.

    • Luis García Jr. homers in Nats’ blowout victory
      Luis García Jr. went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer and three RBI on Monday, lifting the Nationals to a 12-3 blowout win over the Twins.

      Advice: García put the Nationals ahead with a two-run shot off Twins ace Pablo López in the second inning -- his fourth round-tripper of the season -- before adding a run-scoring single a couple frames later. The 24-year-old second baseman is finally starting to make the leap offensively at the highest level this season, batting .281 (38-for-135) with four homers and seven steals in 39 contests so far.     • Sale continues dominant run Monday
      Chris Sale threw seven shutout innings, struck out nine and picked up the win in the Braves’ 3-0 victory over the Padres on Monday.



      Advice: The win was Sale’s seventh in nine starts this season. He continued his excellent run and lowered his ERA to 2.22, which is in the top five in the National League among qualified starters. In Sale’s last five starts, he’s struck out 43 batters, allowed no more than one walk in any start and no more than one earned run in any start. He’s been great this year for fantasy managers that took a chance on the oft-injured pitcher. The 35-year-old left-hander is scheduled to face the Pirates on the road on Saturday.

      Advice: Kim's first hit of the night was a base hit in the fourth, during which he stole second and came around to score on a double from Fernando Tatis. Kim then destroyed a 393-foot blast to center field in the seventh to extend the lead to 9-0. Kim now has just two stolen bases since April 23 and has yet to reach double digits this year after being seventh in baseball in 2023 with 38 thefts.       Taillon (3-2) allowed three runs on six hits and two walks while striking out four over 4.2 innings to take the loss Sunday versus the Pirates.

      Advice: Taillon was a bit inefficient, throwing 55 of 92 pitches for strikes. This was the second start in a row where he failed to complete five innings, and it's the third time in a row he's walked multiple batters. The right-hander is now at a 2.20 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 22:10 K:BB through 32.2 innings over six starts, though his strong April has given way to a shakier May following a bout with back stiffness.       Advice: Garcia doubled and scored in the first inning and knocked an RBI double in the fifth. He's gone 12-for-40 (.300) with six extra-base hits and eight RBI over his last nine games.       Ha-Seong Kim homered, swiped a base, walked and scored a pair of runs on Sunday night, leading the Padres in a 9-1 shellacking of the Braves in Atlanta.

      Advice: Kim led off the fourth inning with a single off of Bryce Elder, swiped second base and scored on a two-run double off the bat of Fernando Tatis Jr. He then walloped a 393-foot (100.7 mph EV) solo shot off of Ray Kerr in the seventh inning that extended the Padres’ lead to 9-0.
