    • Gets checked for undisclosed injury
Lively returned to Cleveland on Monday to undergo further medical exams for an undisclosed injury, Tom Withers of the Associated Press reports.

Advice: The injury presumably stems from Lively's most recent start in Miami on Saturday, when he was lifted from the game after throwing 65 pitches over five shutout innings. Per the Associated Press, manager Stephen Vogt said that Lively experienced some tightness after sitting for an extended period in the top of the fifth inning, when the Guardians erupted for six runs. Vogt didn't expound any further beyond that, but the fact that Lively temporarily left the Guardians to get examined more closely suggests that his early exit wasn't merely precautionary. The Guardians have off days Monday and Thursday and can get by with a shortened rotation for a bit if they choose, so Lively may not be in line to pitch during this weekend's series in Toronto even if he doesn't require a stay on the injured list. Lively has been a pleasant surprise for the Guardians and fantasy managers alike, as he's won each of his last five starts while ringing up a 2.54 ERA and 1.02 WHIP over 28.1 innings. • Tyler Anderson allows four runs in loss to Astros
Tyler Anderson was tagged for four runs over six innings on Saturday in a loss to the Astros.

Advice: Anderson’s run of five consecutive quality starts since May 11 came to an end in this one as Jose Altuve and Jake Meyers delivered early run-scoring singles before Yordan Alvarez took him deep for a two-run blast in the fifth inning. He finished with three strikeouts and only issued one walk. He’ll bring a strong 2.63 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 53/33 K/BB ratio across 82 innings (13 starts) into a road tilt on Thursday against the struggling Diamondbacks. Rotoworld Sunday, 3:13 am
    • Yields four runs in loss
Anderson (5-6) allowed four runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out three over six innings to take the loss versus the Astros on Saturday.

Advice: Anderson gave up two runs in each of the third and fifth innings. He threw 60 of 90 pitches for strikes, but this was the first time in five starts he allowed more than one run. It was just the second time he's been on the hook for four runs this year. The southpaw is at a 2.63 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 53:33 K:BB over 82 innings through 13 starts in 2024. Anderson's surface stats look close to his career year from 2022, but his 4.70 FIP and .218 BABIP suggest he's been very fortunate in 2024. Given his high walk rate, Anderson is a risky pitcher to roster in fantasy over the rest of the season. Rotowire.com Saturday, 10:51 pm
    • Ben Lively blanks Marlins over five innings in win
Ben Lively didn’t allow a run over five innings to pick up a win over the Marlins on Saturday.

Advice: Lively only struck out one, but he was still able to keep the Marlins off the board by allowing only three hits. The only extra-base hit allowed was a double to Vidal Bruján, and outside of that it was smooth sailing for the 32-year-old. Lively now has a 6-2 record and 2.59 ERA, which absolutely everyone was predicting before the season started. The Blue Jays are scheduled for next week. Rotoworld Saturday, 9:59 pm

    • Win streak up to five
Lively (6-2) allowed three hits and struck out one without walking a batter over five shutout innings to earn the win over the Marlins on Saturday.

Advice: Lively might have had more in the tank -- he threw just 65 pitches (43 strikes) in a sharp but somewhat short outing. It was enough for his fifth straight win, and he's allowed just eight runs with a 22:6 K:BB over 28.1 innings in that span. Lively isn't dominating by most measures, as his 20.2 percent whiff rate is in the 15th percentile in the majors, per Statcast. He also averages just 90 mph between his four-seam fastball and sinker, which combine for roughly 60 percent of his pitches. Despite the poor under-the-hood metrics, he's pitched to a 2.59 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 48:15 K:BB over 55.2 innings through 10 starts this season. Lively's next start is projected to be at Toronto. • Blanks Yanks in no-decision
Yamamoto came away with a no-decision in Friday's 2-1 extra-innings win over the Yankees, allowing two hits and two walks over seven scoreless innings. He struck out seven.

Advice: The 25-year-old right-hander was brilliant in his longest scoreless outing in MLB so far, generating 33 called or swinging strikes among his season-high 106 pitches, but neither offense was able to put runs on the board until the 11th inning. Yamamoto will take a 3.00 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 83:16 K:BB through 72 innings into his next start, which lines up to come at home next weekend against the Royals. Rotowire.com Saturday, 6:00 am
    • Fans six in sixth win
Irvin (6-2) picked up the win Friday in a 6-3 victory over the Rays, giving up three runs (two earned) on eight hits over 5.2 innings. He struck out six without walking a battter.

Advice: Three straight singles in the sixth inning kept Irvin from recording his fifth quality start of the season, but the southpaw did tie his season high in strikeouts. He hasn't allowed more than three earned runs in any of his last 10 appearances (eight starts) dating back to April 15, posting a 1.88 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 36:7 K:BB through 52.2 innings over that stretch. Irvin will look to continue his breakout campaign in his next outing, which lines up to come at home next week against Atlanta. Rotowire.com Saturday, 5:39 am

    • Sale strikes out 10 in loss to Nationals Friday
Chris Sale allowed two runs in seven innings and took the loss against the Nationals on Friday.

Advice: Sale gave up five hits, walked one and struck out 10. It was an impressive bounce back performance after he allowed eight runs in his last start. Sale has been tremendous at times this season. While he has a 3.01 ERA on the year, his xFIP is even better at 2.43. The 35-year-old left-hander is set to face the Orioles on the road next week. • Irvin allows three runs and picks up win Friday
Cole Irvin allowed three runs (two earned) in 5 2/3 innings and got the win in the Orioles’ 6-3 victory over the Rays on Friday.

Advice: Irvin gave up eight hits, walked none and struck out six. The win was his sixth of the season. Irvin hasn’t allowed more than three earned runs since his second start of the year back on April 10th. His ERA on the season is now 2.87, though his 4.19 xFIP tells a different story. The 30-year-old left-hander will see if he can keep it going against the Braves at home next week.
