    • On bench for Game 2
Merrill is out of the lineup for Game 2 of Monday's doubleheader in Atlanta.

Advice: Merrill started in center field in Game 1 and went 1-for-4 with two RBI, as he brought home San Diego's first two runs on a groundout and a single. Jose Azocar will take over in center field for the nightcap. Rotowire.com Monday, 2:43 pm

    • Sitting against southpaw
Carpenter is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Carpenter has a 1.034 OPS with seven extra-base hits over his past eight games, but he'll receive Sunday off as lefty Jordan Montgomery pitches for Arizona. Wenceel Perez will shift to right field while Matt Vierling receives a start in center. Rotowire.com Sunday, 11:55 am
    • Getting breather Saturday
Gurriel isn't in the Diamondbacks' lineup for Saturday's game versus Detroit.

Advice: Gurriel has gone just 1-for-18 with nine strikeouts across his past five games, so the D-backs will give him a day to regroup Saturday. Jake McCarthy, Corbin Carroll and Pavin Smith will start across the outfield while Gurriel rests. Rotowire.com Saturday, 1:07 pm
    • Sitting against southpaw
Marsh isn't in the Phillies' lineup for Saturday's game against the Nationals.

Advice: Southpaw MacKenzie Gore will take the mound to begin Saturday's contest for the Nats, so the lefty-hitting Marsh will step out of the lineup. While he sits, Cristian Pache will pick up a start in left field while batting eighth. Rotowire.com Saturday, 1:00 pm

    • Kerry Carpenter drives in four in blowout win
Kerry Carpenter drove in four runs while going 2-for-5 in a blowout win Friday over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Carpenter tripled in two runs in the third and doubled home a pair more in the fifth. The 26-year-old has plated 22 runs in 44 games for the Tigers — a pace of 81 for the season — while hitting .276 with an .848 OPS. You can do a lot worse. Rotoworld Friday, 9:23 pm
    • Racks up four RBI
Carpenter went 2-for-5 with a triple, a double, four RBI and one run scored in Friday's 13-0 win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Carpenter knocked in two runs with a third-inning triple and added a two-run double to cap a six-run rally in the fifth. The outfielder has gone 9-for-26 (.346) with seven extra-base hits and seven RBI over his last seven contests. That's put him at a .276/.328/.520 slash line with five home runs, 22 RBI, 15 runs scored, nine doubles and three triples through 41 contests as one of the Tigers' most productive hitters this season. • Brandon Marsh delivers RBI double in win over Nats
Brandon Marsh walked and delivered an RBI double on Friday night, helping to lead the Phillies to a 4-2 victory over the visiting Nationals.

Advice: Marsh drew a walk off of Jake Irvin to lead off the second inning and ultimately came around to score on a wild pitch. He then smacked a run-scoring double off of Irvin in the third inning that extended the Phillies’ advantage to 4-1. On the season, the 26-year-old outfielder is now hitting .248/.309/.429 with six homers, 23 RBI and seven stolen bases through his first 40 games. Rotoworld Friday, 6:00 pm

    • Ronald Acuña Jr. back in the lineup on Friday
Ronald Acuña Jr. is back in the lineup, batting first for the Braves against the Padres on Friday.

Advice: Acuña received the day off on Wednesday as the Braves look for him to break out of his slump. He went 0-for-5 at the plate on Tuesday, which dropped his average to .245 on the season. Acuña’s .696 OPS is the lowest of his career. Hopefully the short break helps him get on track. Rotoworld Friday, 12:46 pm
    • Braves coaches think Acuña needs a “detox”
According to Ken Suguira of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the Braves gave Ronald Acuña Jr. the day off on Wednesday because they wanted him to “detox” as a way to break his slump.

Advice: Acuña’s batting average (.245), slugging percentage (.342), and home-run rate (one per 51.7 at-bats) are all beneath the single-season lows in his seven-year career, as the 26-year-old tries to follow up a historically good season. “You can just read their faces sometimes, and actions,” said Braves coach Brian Snitker. “And it’s like, ‘Well, it’s time.’ Kid needs a little breather here. He’s played every inning of every game. It’s not a bad thing to sit and watch sometimes.” Braves coaches, Eddie Pérez and Tom Goodwin, told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution that they believe that Acuña is pressing. “Sometimes, you force some things,” Goodwin said. Perhaps with a short break, Acuña will get back to the level everybody has seen him produce at before. Fantasy managers should clearly keep him in the lineup and hope he gets it going soon.
