    • Appears in Complex League game
Marquez (elbow) threw a scoreless inning in an Arizona Complex League game Friday, MLB.com reports.

Advice: Marquez has been making appearances in extended spring training, but this was another step forward in his recovery. He'll continue to ramp up before embarking on a rehab assignment, but he remains on track for a return in the middle of the season. Rotowire.com Today, 12:05 am

    • Quality start in loss
Webb (3-4) allowed three runs (two earned) on eight hits and two walks while striking out six over seven innings to take the loss versus the Reds on Friday.

Advice: Webb has walked multiple batters in three straight starts, but he was at least able to pitch deeper in this contest after failing to get past four innings in each of his last two outings. It's still an uncharacteristic rough patch for the Giants' ace. He's now at a 3.38 ERA, 139 WHIP and 42:14 K:BB through 53.1 innings across nine starts this season. Webb's projected for a tough home matchup with the Dodgers for his next outing. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:11 pm

    • Battling forearm tightness
Woo said Friday that he has been dealing with tightness in his forearm, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

Advice: Woo's forearm had reportedly given him problems during his rehab assignment when he sat down for a long period of time between innings. The issue returned during the fifth inning of his start against the A's, causing him to be pulled as a precaution. Manager Scott Servais said he expects Woo to be fine, and the right-hander will likely be able to make his next start -- tentatively scheduled for Wednesday against Kansas City. • Earns second win
Abbott (2-4) allowed two runs on six hits and a walk while striking out two over five innings to earn the win Friday over the Giants.

Advice: Abbott gave up a solo home run to Thairo Estrada in the first inning and an RBI single to Tyler Fitzgerald in the second. After that, Abbott was able to settle in to earn his first win in five starts. The two strikeouts were a season low, but he's walked just one batter over his last three outings combined, though he's also given up five homers in that span. The 24-year-old is now at a 3.35 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 37:12 K:BB over 43 innings across eight starts this season. Abbott is projected to make his next start on the road in Arizona. • Fans seven in no-decision
Marsh did not factor into the decision Friday against the Angels, allowing one run on four hits and two walks over 5.1 innings. He struck out seven.

Advice: Marsh (elbow) looked sharp in his return from the injured list Friday night, tossing a formidable 85 pitches. The Kansas City right-hander lowered his ERA to 2.53 overall with his effort against the Angels. He also stayed hot after throwing 10 shutout innings in his two starts before the injured list stint. Marsh is scheduled to make his next start against the Mariners on the road. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:50 pm

    • Logan Webb works seven, allows two in loss to Reds
Logan Webb gave up three runs — two earned — while working seven innings in a loss Friday to the Reds.

Advice: Webb was much better than his middling start Sunday against the Phillies, but unfortunately it does result in another loss for the 27-year-old. The right-hander gave up eight hits with two walks, and he struck out six. A solid effort, and it lowers his ERA to 3.38 on the season. The Dodgers come next for Webb. • Andrew Abbott goes five, gives up two vs. Giants
Andrew Abbott surrendered two runs over five innings in a win Friday against the Giants.

Advice: Abbott didn’t have his best swing-and-miss stuff, as he struck out only two while throwing 88 pitches. He didn’t issue a walk, however, and after giving up runs in the first and second inning, he settled down quite nicely. The southpaw sees his ERA tick up slightly from 3.32 to 3.35, but all things considered, this was a good outing for Abbott. He’ll face the D-Backs next week in Arizona. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:49 pm
    • Solid in no-decision
Canning did not factor into the decision Friday against Kansas City, allowing three hits and two walks over 5.2 shutout innings. He struck out three.

Advice: Canning produced his first scoreless start of the season Friday night as he held the Royals in check over his 90 pitches. The 28-year-old has been solid over his last five starts, tossing a 3.67 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 17:11 K:BB overing 27 innings. Canning is slated to face a struggling Cardinals offense at home in his next start. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:48 pm
    • Hit hard Friday
Blackburn (3-2) took the loss Friday versus the Mariners, allowing seven runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out five over four-plus innings.

Advice: Blackburn cruised through the Mariners' lineup once, but couldn't do it a second time. He ran into trouble in the fourth inning and allowed three straight batters to reach to begin the fifth before Tyler Ferguson was brought on in relief. This is the second time in three outings Blackburn has been tagged for crooked numbers, and it's concerning this one came against an offense as pedestrian as Seattle. Blackburn has a 4.11 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 36:13 K:BB through 46 innings across eight starts this season. The right-hander is lined up to make his next start on the road in Houston.
