    • Sheds walking boot
Hernaiz (ankle) is out of his walking boot and will begin a strength and fitness program this week, MLB.com reports.

Advice: The 22-year-old has been making very slow progress from his severe ankle sprain, but it appears his recovery is starting to gather some momentum just over a month after he initially suffered the injury. Hernaiz's next step after the strength and fitness program will be to resume baseball activities, with the start date for that benchmark still to be determined. Rotowire.com 38 minutes ago

    • Expected to avoid extended absence
Rockies manager Bud Black said Monday that Rodgers was diagnosed with a "mild strain" of his left hamstring and isn't expected to stay on the injured list for much longer than the minimum 10 days, MLB.com reports.

Advice: Rodgers strained his hamstring while running to first base on a sacrifice-bunt attempt in last Friday's game against the Cardinals and was placed on the 10-day IL two days later. While he's not on track to be activated when first eligible next Tuesday, Rodgers looks like he might have a chance to return before the end of June, depending on how quickly he's able to resume baseball activities. Adael Amador was recalled from Double-A Hartford on Sunday and is expected to serve as the Rockies' primary second baseman for the duration of Rodgers' absence. Rotowire.com Today, 7:50 am

    • Jake Cronenworth hits 10th homer in Padres’ win
Jake Cronenworth homered, doubled and scored twice as the Padres topped the A’s 6-1 on Monday.

Advice: Cronenworth has two homers in three games after going his previous 19 games without one. His exit velocity numbers have trended downwards after a surprisingly hot start in April, but he’s still performing better than his decline the previous two seasons indicated he would; he’s back up to .267/.331/.463 after tonight. He has as many homers (10) in 288 plate appearances this year that he did in 522 last season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:31 pm
    • Reaches three times in win
Kim went 1-for-1 with two walks, two RBI and a stolen base in Monday's 6-1 victory against Oakland.

Advice: Kim gave San Diego its first lead with an RBI single in the fourth inning and plated the team's final run with a sacrifice fly in the seventh. The shortstop added a stolen base in the victory, giving him 14 on the campaign. Kim has struggled at the plate for much of the early part of the season but may be starting to heat up, going 4-for-12 with two homers, seven RBI and four walks over his past four contests. • Swats homer in victory
Cronenworth went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, a double and two total runs against Oakland in Monday's 6-1 win.

Advice: Cronenworth put San Diego's first run on the board with a solo homer in the third inning, and he scored again after getting hit by a pitch in the seventh. The second baseman also doubled in the contest, resulting in his first game with multiple extra-base hits since May 3. Cronenworth has put together a modest five-game hitting streak during which he's gone 8-for-19 with two homers, two doubles, six RBI and four runs. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:51 pm
    • Mariners INF Dylan Moore goes on paternity list
Mariners placed INF/OF Dylan Moore on the paternity list.

Advice: This seems rather last minute, given that Moore was listed in tonight’s lineup at second base. Ryan Bliss will take his place. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:16 pm

    • Placed on paternity list
Moore was placed on the paternity list ahead of Monday's matchup with the White Sox.

Advice: Moore was originally set to start at second base and bat ninth in Monday's series opener with the White Sox, but he will now be away from the team for up to three games. In his absence, Ryan Bliss could see some extra work at second base while Leonardo Rivas was recalled from Triple-A Tacoma to replace Moore on the major-league roster. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:16 pm

    • Paternity leave coming soon
The Mariners are expected to place Moore on the paternity leave list, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

Advice: Moore is in Monday's lineup against the White Sox, so it appears the move won't occur until after the game. Leonardo Rivas and Jhonathan Diaz have joined the Mariners' taxi squad and it sounds one of them will join the active roster as Moore's replacement. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:34 pm

    • Resumes baseball activities
Massey (back) took swings and played catch Monday, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Massey received multiple injections after being examined by a back specialist in late May and is finally ready to ramp things back up. There's no guarantee his recurring back issues won't flare up again, but for now Massey looks to be trending in the right direction. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:08 pm
