After seeing his ERA rise above 3.00 a season ago for the first time since 2019, Wheeler has cruised to a 1.64 ERA across 49.1 innings this season and is tied for the league lead in strikeouts with 63. The veteran outfielder extended his hitting streak to five games, and four of his seven hits over that span have gone for extra bases.       Brandon Nimmo launched a go-ahead solo homer in the seventh inning on Monday, lifting the Mets to a 4-3 victory over the Cardinals.

      Advice: Nimmo’s tie-breaking seventh-inning shot off veteran reliever Andrew Kittredge wound up being the difference in a low-scoring series-opening showdown at Busch Stadium. It was his fourth round-tripper of the season and second time he’s gone deep in his last eight contests since April 29.       Advice: It was another stellar outing from Ragans, who now has allowed just four earned runs in his past three starts. The only damage against him came off a Gary Sanchez two-run home run. The 26-year-old southpaw has recorded at least eight punch outs in back-to-back games.       Duran struck out two batters in a scoreless eighth inning and earned a hold during Monday's win over Seattle.

      Advice: Duran was called upon to face the Mariners' 9-1-2 hitters in a 3-1 contest. After earning a save in each of his first two appearances of 2024, he's picked up a hold in his last two games. Duran is the primary closing option in Minnesota but it appears there may be more of a committee than expected. Last season, he converted 27 of 32 saves and picked up only one hold.       Ragans allowed two runs on two hits and two walks over six innings in a no-decision Monday. He struck out eight during the win over Milwaukee.

      Advice: The lone blemish on Ragans' line Monday was a two-run shot by Gary Sanchez in the fourth inning. After the long ball, Ragans retired the final seven batters he faced, with three coming via strikeout. He matched his season high by forcing 19 whiffs, with nine coming against his changeup. Since getting hammered for seven runs against the Orioles, Ragans has posted a strong 2.04 ERA and 21:8 K:BB over his last three starts.       Zack Wheeler fanned 11 and yielded only an unearned run over seven innings as the Phillies bested the Giants 6-1 on Monday.

      Advice: Wheeler got 16 of his 19 missed swings on fastballs and sinkers today and wound up with an excellent 40% CSW. He’s the easy NL Cy Young favorite at this point, having opened up 4-3 with a 1.64 ERA and a 63/13 K/BB ratio in 49 1/3 innings.
