      Eflin (2-4) picked up the win in Tuesday's 5-1 victory over the White Sox, allowing one run on six hits over seven innings. He struck out three without walking a batter.

      Advice: The right-hander put together his longest outing of the season, throwing an efficient 94 pitches (65 strikes) and blanking Chicago for six innings before Paul DeJong touched him up for a solo shot in the seventh. The quality start was Eflin's fourth of the season in eight trips to the mound, and he'll take a 3.75 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 39:4 K:BB through 48 innings into his next start, which is scheduled to come early next week in Boston.       Nootbaar went 1-for-2 with a solo homer, three walks and two runs scored in Tuesday's loss to the Mets.

      Advice: Nootbaar supplied a late home run in the ninth off Adam Ottavino to bring the Cardinals within two runs. It was his first long ball since his season debut April 12. His eye at the plate was magnificent, as he drew three walks for the first time since Sept. 15 after having walked just twice since April 20 entering Tuesday's game. The 26-year-old has yet to find a groove at the dish thus far, slashing only .183/.295/.329 with eight extra-base hits, eight RBI, seven runs and a 13:17 BB:K in 96 plate appearances.       Nimmo went 1-for-4 with a three-run homer and a walk in Tuesday's 7-5 win over the Cardinals.

      Advice: Nimmo got the Mets going with a three-run blast off Miles Mikolas in the fifth to knot the game up at 3-3. He's now homered in back-to-back games and has at least a hit in six straight with seven RBI over that span.       Hoskins went 1-for-5 with a solo home run during Tuesday's 6-5 win over Kansas City.

      Advice: Hoskins provided the Brewers first run of the game, leading off the second inning with a solo home run. The long ball was matched by Joey Ortiz, who immediately followed suit and hit a home run as the next batter after Hoskins.       Logan O’Hoppe went 4-for-5 with two RBI in a win over the Pirates on Tuesday.

      Advice: All four of O’Hoppe’s hits were singles and only one of them was hit harder than 95 mph, but the 24-year-old won’t be complaining. The catcher was a popular breakout candidate this season and while he hasn’t set the world on fire, his .279/.330/.404 triple slash is solid from the catcher position.     • Burnes allows three earned runs in loss to Nats
      Corbin Burnes allowed five hits and three earned runs over 6 1/3 innings in Tuesday’s loss to the Nationals.

      Advice: Burnes needed 50 pitches to get through the first three innings and allowed his first run in the second inning when Joey Meneses singled home Jesse Winker. He allowed four base runners through the first three innings but would settle in to retire nine of 10 hitters in innings four through six. He’d be chased quickly in the seventh after a leadoff double by Joey Meneses was followed by RBI singles from Eddie Rosario and Trey Lipscomb, but it was an otherwise solid outing for Burnes, who lacked offensive support in this one.     • Zach Eflin completes seven in win over White Sox
      Zach Eflin yielded one run over seven innings on Tuesday in a win over the White Sox.

      Advice: Eflin struck out three and limited a lifeless Chicago offense to just six baserunners over seven frames. He generated only four swinging strikes on 94 pitches and finished with a lackluster 24 percent CSW. It was a nice bounce-back effort after giving up at least three earned runs in each of his previous two outings, including a clunker against the White Sox back on April 26. He’ll bring a solid 3.75 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 39/4 K/BB ratio across 48 innings (eight starts) into a road matchup on Monday against the Red Sox at Fenway Park.

      Grayson Rodriguez (shoulder) continued playing catch on Tuesday.

      Advice: Rodriguez expressed optimism to reporters that he could return to Baltimore’s starting rotation following a minimum stay on the 15-day injured list due to right shoulder inflammation. It certainly doesn’t sound like there are any long-term concerns with the 24-year-old burgeoning ace.
