    • Throws off mound Wednesday
Rodriguez (shoulder) threw 15 pitches off the mound Wednesday, Matt Weyrich of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Advice: It's the first time Rodriguez has thrown off a mound since he landed on the 15-day injured list a week ago with right shoulder inflammation. The hope is that the right-hander will be ready to go when his 15 days are up, but he still has some hurdles to clear in order to make that a reality. Rotowire.com Today, 1:26 pm
    • No support in loss
Burnes (3-2) allowed three runs on five hits and three walks while striking out six over 6.1 innings to take the loss Tuesday versus the Nationals.

Advice: The three walks matched a season high, and the Nationals proved opportunistic by logging three steals with Burnes on the mound. The right-hander has earned a quality start in five of his eight outings and has yet to give up more than three runs in any of his starts. He's winless over his last three starts but owns a 2.83 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 47:12 K:BB through 47.2 innings overall. Burnes lines up for a home start versus the Blue Jays in his next outing. • Sharp in second win
Eflin (2-4) picked up the win in Tuesday's 5-1 victory over the White Sox, allowing one run on six hits over seven innings. He struck out three without walking a batter.

Advice: The right-hander put together his longest outing of the season, throwing an efficient 94 pitches (65 strikes) and blanking Chicago for six innings before Paul DeJong touched him up for a solo shot in the seventh. The quality start was Eflin's fourth of the season in eight trips to the mound, and he'll take a 3.75 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 39:4 K:BB through 48 innings into his next start, which is scheduled to come early next week in Boston. • Burnes allows three earned runs in loss to Nats
Corbin Burnes allowed five hits and three earned runs over 6 1/3 innings in Tuesday’s loss to the Nationals.

Advice: Burnes needed 50 pitches to get through the first three innings and allowed his first run in the second inning when Joey Meneses singled home Jesse Winker. He allowed four base runners through the first three innings but would settle in to retire nine of 10 hitters in innings four through six. He’d be chased quickly in the seventh after a leadoff double by Joey Meneses was followed by RBI singles from Eddie Rosario and Trey Lipscomb, but it was an otherwise solid outing for Burnes, who lacked offensive support in this one. He’ll look to tally his first win of May when he toes the rubber Monday against the Blue Jays. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:16 pm
    • Zach Eflin completes seven in win over White Sox
Zach Eflin yielded one run over seven innings on Tuesday in a win over the White Sox.

Advice: Eflin struck out three and limited a lifeless Chicago offense to just six baserunners over seven frames. He generated only four swinging strikes on 94 pitches and finished with a lackluster 24 percent CSW. It was a nice bounce-back effort after giving up at least three earned runs in each of his previous two outings, including a clunker against the White Sox back on April 26. He’ll bring a solid 3.75 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 39/4 K/BB ratio across 48 innings (eight starts) into a road matchup on Monday against the Red Sox at Fenway Park.

    • Grayson Rodriguez unlikely to require rehab start
Grayson Rodriguez (shoulder) continued playing catch on Tuesday.

Advice: Rodriguez expressed optimism to reporters that he could return to Baltimore’s starting rotation following a minimum stay on the 15-day injured list due to right shoulder inflammation. It certainly doesn’t sound like there are any long-term concerns with the 24-year-old burgeoning ace. He should be able to jump right back into the Orioles’ stacked rotation mix by mid-May without a minor league rehab assignment. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:26 pm
    • Could return once eligible
Rodriguez (shoulder) "feels much better" and hopes to be reinstated once he becomes eligible May 15, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reported Tuesday.

Advice: Rodriguez has battled inflammation in his shoulder throughout May. However, per Andy Kostka of TheBaltimoreBanner.com, his move to the 15-day IL was to prevent the issue from developing into anything more serious, and he could return to the O's without a rehab start. Rodriguez has a 4-1 record with a 3.71 ERA through six starts and would likely replace Cole Irvin in the rotation once available. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:07 pm
    • Another dominant start
Wheeler (4-3) earned the win Monday against San Francisco, allowing one unearned run on four hits and one walk with 11 strikeouts over seven innings.

Advice: Wheeler didn't allow an earned run for the third time in his last four starts as he shut down the Giants with a season-high 11 strikeouts. After seeing his ERA rise above 3.00 a season ago for the first time since 2019, Wheeler has cruised to a 1.64 ERA across 49.1 innings this season and is tied for the league lead in strikeouts with 63. He'll look to extend his win streak to five next time out, with a tentative matchup with the Marlins on the docket for Sunday. Rotowire.com Monday, 9:42 pm

    • Cole Ragans fans eight versus Brewers Monday
Cole Ragans yielded two earned runs on two hits over six innings in a no-decision against the Brewers on Monday.

Advice: It was another stellar outing from Ragans, who now has allowed just four earned runs in his past three starts. The only damage against him came off a Gary Sanchez two-run home run. The 26-year-old southpaw has recorded at least eight punch outs in back-to-back games. After allowing seven earned runs to Baltimore on April 20, Ragans has looked sharp and is a must-start for fantasy managers throughout the season. Rotoworld Monday, 8:27 pm
