    • Adames has two-hit game in win against Cubs
      Willy Adames went 2-for-3 with a walk, a double and a run scored against the Cubs on Thursday.

      Vinnie Pasquantino went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run on Thursday against the Twins.

      Advice: Pasquantino went deep for the sixth time this season following a one-game absence recovering from a left leg injury that he suffered earlier this week. He’s hitting just .229 with a .234 BABIP this year. Pasquantino’s career BABIP is .267 and with better luck on balls in play we should expect him to hit at least .260 over the course of the rest of the season.       Ohtani went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run and an additional RBI in Wednesday's 10-3 win over the Mets.

      Advice: Ohtani knocked a run-scoring single in the fifth inning and capped his performance with a two-run blast in the eighth. The long ball was his first since May 17 and pushed him to 14 on the campaign, eighth-most in the majors.       Manager Kevin Cash said that Eflin (back) will throw a light bullpen session Thursday and a "ramped-up bullpen session" Sunday before the Rays decide his next steps, Ryan Bass of Bally Sports Sun reports.

      Advice: Cash noted that the Rays will wait and see how Eflin feels following Sunday's session, but if his lower-back injury isn't providing any complications, he could be cleared to return from the 15-day injured list next week. When Eflin was placed on the IL on May 20, Cash estimated that the right-hander would need 2-to-4 weeks to make a full recovery, and Eflin currently looks to be tracking toward the short end of that timeline.       Advice: Contreras has been held hitless just five times over 26 games in May, going 31-for-104 (.298) for the month. The catcher is up to a .323/.394/.509 slash line with eight home runs, four steals, 43 RBI, 45 runs scored, 15 doubles and a triple in 55 contests, so this month has actually been a bit of a cooling off compared to how he started the season.       Willy Adames went 2-for-3 with a home run, three RBI, two runs scored, and a walk in the Brewers’ 10-6 win over the Cubs on Wednesday.

      Advice: Adames brought a run in to score with a base hit in the third, then drew walk in the fifth. He later took Kyle Hendricks deep for a two-run blast in the seventh inning. It was his second home run in three games with extending his hit streak to eight. Playing for a new contract this winter, the 28-year-old shortstop is up to nine homers while slashing .255/.328/.454 with 39 RBI and eight steals across 241 plate appearances.
