    • Drives in three runs
Witt went 1-for-4 with a triple, three RBI and a run scored during Friday's 8-0 win at Detroit.

Advice: The 23-year-old started the scoring with a sacrifice fly during the third inning and added a two-run triple as part of a seven-run ninth for the Royals. Witt is in a bit of a power drought with no homers in his past 14 games, though he does have six RBI and three steals over his last four contests. Rotowire.com Today, 2:59 pm
    • Absence continues Friday
Fraley (illness) is out of the lineup for Friday's game at Texas.

Advice: Fraley is out of the starting nine for a seventh straight game as he continues to recover from an illness. Jonathan India will receive another turn at designated hitter while Santiago Espinal starts at second base. Rotowire.com Today, 2:44 pm

    • Jake Fraley (illness) held out of lineup again
Jake Fraley (illness) was held out of the Reds’ starting lineup for the sixth consecutive game on Friday.

Advice: That must be some serious illness that Fraley has been dealing with. It’s still somewhat encouraging that the Reds haven’t placed him on the injured list, so there must be hope that he’s only a day or two away from returning. Stuart Fairchild will start in his place in center field again on Friday and will bat ninth for the Reds against Nathan Eovaldi and the Rangers. Rotoworld Today, 2:10 pm

    • Going through full workout
Burger (oblique) will go through a full on-field workout Friday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Burger is nearly two weeks removed from suffering a left intercostal strain and is finally ready to resume all baseball activities. It would appear a rehab assignment is just around the corner, with a return sometime in early- to mid-May if all goes well. Rotowire.com Today, 1:53 pm

    • Bobby Witt Jr. plates three runs to lead Royals
Bobby Witt Jr. went 1-for-4 with a triple and three RBI on Friday afternoon, propelling the Royals to an 8-0 victory over the Tigers in Detroit.

Advice: The 23-year-old superstar opened the scoring in the third inning with a sacrifice fly off of Reese Olson. That would be the only run scored for either side until the Royals broke the game open with a seven-run ninth inning. Witt featured heavily in that frame, crushing a three-run triple off of Will Vest and scoring on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Vinnie Pasquantino. He has lived up to his lofty fantasy draft status so far this season — slashing .306/.350/.565 with four homers, 14 RBI and seven stolen bases through his first 27 games. Rotoworld Today, 1:26 pm
    • Secures fourth save
Jax earned the save Thursday against the White Sox, striking out one over a scoreless two-thirds of an inning.

Advice: Jax entered the game with one out and the bases loaded to protect a four-run lead in the top of the ninth inning, and he got Eloy Jimenez to go down swinging before Robbie Grossman reached on a fielding error, bringing home a run. Jax's next pitch coaxed a groundout from Andrew Vaughn to secure his fourth save of the season. The right-hander has not allowed a run in any of his last four appearances and has held his opponents hitless in each of his last three, striking out four over that stretch while not issuing any walks. However, Jax's stint as closer is likely about to end with Jhoan Duran (oblique) on a rehab assignment at Triple-A St. Paul and poised to make his 2024 debut within the next week or so. • Three hits, two RBI in win
Hoskins went 3-for-5 in Thursday's win over the Pirates with a double, two RBI and a stolen base.

Advice: Hoskins singled home William Contreras in his second at-bat to tie the game at 3-3 and later added an RBI double to give Milwaukee a one-run lead. The first baseman has recorded at least one RBI in four of his last six games, while Thursday marked his second three-hit effort of the season. With that said, he's still batting just .219 (16-for-73) in April with four homers and 13 RBI. Rotowire.com Today, 4:08 am

    • Takes loss against Royals
Berrios (4-1) took the loss Thursday against Kansas City, allowing two runs on three hits and three walks with a strikeout over five innings.

Advice: All of the damage against Berrios came via a Salvador Perez two-run home run in the first inning. Berrios failed to complete six innings for the first time this season, an impossible task considering Thursday's game was called due to rain after five frames. The outing snapped Berrios's scoreless inning streak that spanned 21.2 innings. He's tentatively scheduled for another start against the Royals early next week. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:46 pm
    • Heating up at plate
Devers went 3-for-5 with a run scored in Thursday's 6-4 loss to Cleveland.

Advice: Devers produced a second consecutive three-hit effort after missing five games with a knee injury. He's gone 6-for-9 with a double, home run, two RBI and two runs scored in his two games back. The downtime appears to have given the balky shoulder he was dealing with during Boston's homestand last week time to heal, but Devers has yet to resume playing third base. According to Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe, manager Alex Cora said prior to Thursday's game that Devers is likely to remain the Red Sox's designated hitter through Friday before potentially returning to action at third base Saturday versus the Cubs.
