    • Retreating to bench
Rosario is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Red Sox.

Advice: Rosario will head to the bench after he had started in each of the previous four games while seeing time at three different spots in the infield (second base, third base and shortstop). Though the right-handed-hitting Rosario should remain a mainstay in the lineup versus lefties, his opportunities to play against right-handed pitching could be more limited moving forward after the Rays activated the lefty-hitting Jonathan Aranda from the injured list Tuesday. • Getting rest in series finale
Garcia is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the White Sox, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.

Advice: The White Sox are bringing southpaw Garrett Crochet to the hill for the series finale, so the Nationals will stock up on some extra right-handed bats. The lefty-hitting Garcia will hit the bench after he went 1-for-8 with a walk while starting at second base in both ends of Tuesday's doubleheader. Trey Lipscomb will fill in for Garcia at the keystone. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 9:23 am

    • Takes soft toss Monday
Edman (wrist) took soft toss Monday as he continues his hitting progression, Daniel Guerrero of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Advice: Edman has gone from tee work to soft toss and will progress to facing live pitching once he's ready for the next step. The switch hitter is being slow-played following complications in his recovery from right wrist surgery and still appears to be pretty far off from beginning a rehab assignment. • Doubles, triples, drives in three
Rosario went 2-for-4 with a double, triple, three RBI and a run scored during Monday's win over the Red Sox.

Advice: Rosario's two-out, two-run triple in the first put the Rays on the board while his run-scoring double in the eighth provided the Rays with their final margin of victory. Rosario has found a regular role as the top utility man for Tampa, batting .296 with a .312 on-base percentage, six doubles, three triples, two homers, 18 RBI, 12 runs and five stolen bases over 138 plate appearances. • Amed Rosario delivers three RBI in Rays’ win
Amed Rosario went 2-for-4 with three RBI on Monday, propelling the Rays to a 5-3 win over the Red Sox.

Advice: Rosario kicked off the scoring with a two-run triple into the right-center field gap in the opening frame before coming around to score on ensuing batter Richie Palacios’ run-scoring single. He also provided a key insurance run with an eighth-inning RBI double as well. Rotoworld Monday, 7:17 pm

    • Not starting against Yankees
Rosario is out of the starting lineup for Friday's matchup against the Yankees, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Advice: The 28-year-old infielder has been seeing regular action at second base recently as the Rays remain without Brandon Lowe (oblique), but Rosario will begin the game in the dugout Friday. He currently sports a .301 batting average with two homers, five steals, 11 runs and 15 RBI. Richie Palacios will get the start at second base Friday and bat seventh in the lineup. • Remains limited to tee work
Edman (wrist) remains limited to tee work, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

Advice: He has been cleared to up the intensity of his workouts, but Edman's progress remains, at best, slow, with no return date in sight. The switch hitter was transferred to the 60-day injured list earlier this week, so he's officially not eligible for activation until late May. Rotowire.com Thursday, 1:53 pm

    • Luis García Jr. (wrist) in lineup Tuesday vs. O’s
Luis García Jr. (wrist) is in the lineup for Tuesday’s series opener against the Orioles.

Advice: It’s an extremely encouraging sign that García is healthy and ready to go following an early exit from Sunday’s series finale against the Blue Jays due to left wrist soreness. The 23-year-old former top prospect has gotten off to a phenomenal start this season, batting .337 (33-for-98) with three homers and six steals in 29 contests. Rotoworld Tuesday, 2:25 pm
