It marked the lefty's second start this season in which he didn't allow any runs, while the two hits allowed marked a season low.       Advice: The right-hander needed only eight pitches (four strikes) to get the job done. Suarez also leads the league with eight victories and a 0.76 WHIP, and he has yet to take a loss.       Advice: Valdez was outstanding against the A’s, holding them scoreless over seven innings. He scattered two hits and two walks, striking out eight batters on 13 whiffs.       Ranger Suárez fought for the win in what was his worst start in weeks. He lasted five innings, walked two, and struck out three in a win over the Mets Wednesday night. Both runs he allowed were unearned.

      Advice: This felt more like the Ranger Suárez of old, nibbling around the zone and unable to put many away. He was able to work out of trouble effectively as the Mets had men on base in four out of five innings and could not start a rally.       Advice: The right-hander dealt with back tightness in his most recent start Monday against the Cubs and was lifted after five scoreless innings, but he's apparently feeling better two days later. Assuming he's able to make it out of his between-starts bullpen session without incident, Lopez shouldn't face any major workload restrictions when he toes the rubber Sunday. After spending most of the last two seasons as a reliever, Lopez has exceeded expectations with his move to a starting role in his first year in Atlanta, going 2-1 with a 1.34 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 40:16 K:BB in 40.1 innings through his first seven outings.       Paul Sewald tossed a perfect ninth inning on Wednesday against the Reds to collect his second save of the season.

      Advice: Sewald got the call to protect a one-run lead in the bottom of the ninth after Lourdes Gurriel Jr. put Arizona ahead in the top of the frame with a two-out RBI double. He got Mike Ford to ground out before coaxing a harmless pop up from Spencer Steer and a fly out from Jeimer Candelario to end the contest. The 33-year-old veteran stopper has converted both of his save chances to go along with a 2.25 ERA, 0.75 WHIP and 4/1 K/BB ratio across four innings (four appearances) since returning from the injured list back on May 7.       Advice: Kikuchi needed 88 pitches to record 11 outs, though he limited Baltimore to one run on Jordan Westburg's lead-off homer in the first while recording nine strikeouts for the third time this season. Kikuchi had gone at least six innings in his previous six starts -- he's 2-3 on the year with a 2.60 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 55:10 K:BB across 52 innings.
