    • Diagnosed with sprained UCL
The Blue Jays placed Manoah on the 15-day injured list Friday, retroactive to May 30, with a right elbow sprain, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Advice: Manoah has damage to his UCL and will receive a second opinion from Dr. Keith Meister next Thursday, per Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca. Season-ending surgery looks like a distinct possibility, but that decision should be made after next week's exam. Manoah has posted a 3.70 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 26:8 K:BB over 24.1 innings covering five starts with the Blue Jays this season. Rotowire.com Today, 12:49 pm

    • Blue Jays place RHP Alek Manoah (elbow) on 15-day IL
Blue Jays placed RHP Alek Manoah on the 15-day injured list with a right elbow sprain.

Advice: Manoah was pulled from Wednesday’s start with elbow discomfort and now finds himself on the injured list. The 26-year-old right-hander had a 3.70 ERA and SO:BB of 26:8 in 24 1/3 innings for Toronto. While his timetable to return is unclear, he’s expected to miss an extended period of time. • Manoah expected to miss extended period
Alek Manoah (elbow) is expected to miss an extend period of time, according to TSN’s Scott Mitchell.

Advice: Manoah is headed for a second opinion on his elbow, according to TSN’s Scott Mitchell. It’s safe to say that the first opinion wasn’t, “What a fine elbow you have, Mr. Manoah.” The 26-year-old right-hander is safe to drop in leagues without injury spots as he’s expected to miss significant time. • Expected to miss significant time
Manoah will receive a second opinion on his injured right elbow and the expectation is that he's going to be sidelined for an extended period of time, Scott Mitchell of TSN.ca reports.

Advice: Manoah was forced from his last outing Wednesday against the White Sox in the second inning due to discomfort in his pitching elbow. He had been set to undergo an MRI on Thursday, and it would appear the results of that exam were not favorable. Manoah has not yet been placed on the injured list, but that looks to be inevitable. Bowden Francis (forearm) is slated to return soon and is an option to take Manoah's rotation spot. Rotowire.com Today, 10:34 am

    • Records first steal in loss
Crawford went 0-for-2 with two walks and a stolen base in a loss to the Astros on Thursday.

Advice: The veteran shortstop was one of only two Mariners to reach base multiple times on a quiet night for the team's offense. Crawford also snagged his first steal of the campaign and has reached safely in eight of 11 games since his return from the IL, but he still carries a paltry .208/.301/.328 slash line across 143 plate appearances for the season. • Shut down for at least one month
Schmidt (lat) will be shut down for 4-to-6 weeks, Greg Joyce of the New York Post reports.

Advice: Schmidt landed on the injured list Thursday, and he'll be in line for a lengthy absence. He'll be sidelined until the All-Star break, leaving the Yankees shorthanded in the rotation until Gerrit Cole (elbow) can return. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:48 pm

    • J.P. Crawford walks twice, steals base in M’s loss
J.P. Crawford walked twice and stole a base on Thursday in the Mariners’ shutout loss at the hands of the Astros.

Advice: Crawford also made one of the highlight reel-worthy defensive plays of the entire season in the seventh inning of this one, flipping the ball to double-play partner Dylan Moore to rob Mauricio Dubón of a surefire single up the middle. The 29-year-old shortstop is batting .231 (9-for-39) with one homer and one steal since returning from the injured list back on May 20. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:45 pm
    • Two hits, homer vs. Brewers
Bellinger went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a double in Thursday's 6-4 loss to Milwaukee.

Advice: Bellinger opened the scoring with a two-out solo shot off Colin Rea, giving the Cubs a 1-0 lead in the first inning with his eighth homer of the year and his first in 18 games. While he hadn't been hitting for much power, Bellinger's been seeing the ball well recently -- he has hits in six straight games, going 11-for-27 (.407) in that span, including five consecutive two-hit efforts. The 28-year-old outfielder is now slashing .267/.332/.471 with 26 RBI and 19 runs scored through 190 plate appearances this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:34 pm

    • Placed on injured list
The Yankees placed Schmidt on the 15-day injured list Thursday with a right lat strain.

Advice: Schmidt gave up two runs (one earned) in five innings during Sunday's loss to the Padres, and he appears to have injured his lat in the process. His move to the IL is backdated to Monday, so the 28-year-old right-hander will be able to return beginning June 11. In the meantime, Cody Morris will come up from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to fill the opening on New York's roster. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:15 pm
