    • Extends hitting streak with homer
Gurriel went 1-for-5 with a solo homer in Saturday's win over the Padres.

Advice: Gurriel jumped on a knuckleball from Matt Waldron to lead off the fourth inning and crushed it into the stands in left-center field to give Arizona a one-run lead. It was the outfielder's third home run in his last eight games and he's now hit safely in five straight contests to open the month of July. Gurriel has also tallied multiple hits in 10 of his last 16 games, batting .358 (24-for-67) over that stretch with four homers, 12 RBI and 10 runs scored. Rotowire.com 27 minutes ago
    • Home run, triple in win
Ohtani went 2-for-2 with a home run, a triple, two runs scored and a stolen base in Saturday's win over Milwaukee. He also drew two walks.

Advice: Ohtani drew a leadoff walk in his first trip to the plate before coming home on a Will Smith home run in the following at-bat. The superstar slugger then swiped his 18th bag of the season in the second inning after being hit by a pitch and later added a home run of his own to extend the Dodgers' lead to two runs in the eighth. It marked his second long ball this month and his 28th on the campaign, which is good for second in the majors behind only Aaron Judge. The triple was Ohtani's third of the season and his first since May 25. Rotowire.com Today, 6:15 am

    • Blanks Tampa in no-decision
Heaney came away with a no-decision in Saturday's 4-3 win over the Rays, allowing three hits and two walks over 5.1 scoreless innings. He struck out seven.

Advice: The veteran lefty continued a surge that began when the calendar flipped to June. Heaney has given up three runs or less in seven straight starts, delivering a 2.95 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 46:10 K:BB through 39.2 innings over that stretch -- ratios very reminiscent of his 2022 breakout with the Dodgers. Heaney will look to stay sharp in his next outing, which lines up for a Lone Star Series clash with the Astros in Houston next weekend. Rotowire.com Today, 6:05 am

    • Homers again
Steer went 1-for-3 with a home run and an additional run in Saturday's 5-3 loss to the Tigers.

Advice: Steer homered for a third straight game when he launched a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning. He's up to 13 home runs and a team-high 57 RBI. Rotowire.com Today, 6:02 am

    • Belts game-winning homer
Semien went 1-for-3 with a walk, a two-run home run and a second run scored in Saturday's 4-3 win over the Rays.

Advice: With the Rangers down 3-2 in the bottom of the seventh inning, Semien got hold of a Kevin Kelly two-seamer on the inner half of the plate and drove it over the left-field wall for the game-winning hit. The second baseman snapped a 22-game homer drought with the blast, a stretch in which he'd stumbled to a .143/.196/.176 slash line. Semien's current .679 OPS on the season would be his lowest mark since the COVID-shortened 2020 campaign, but he's still on pace for his fourth straight campaign with at least 20 home runs and 80 RBI, and the 33-year-old has plenty of time to kick his offense into a higher gear. • Shohei Ohtani fills up box score in win Saturday
Shohei Ohtani homered, tripled, walked twice, was hit by a pitch, stole a base and scored a run as the Dodgers triumphed over the Brewers on Saturday evening in Los Angeles.

Advice: Ohtani started the home half of the first inning by working a walk off of Freddy Peralta. He then rode home on Will Smith’s two-run blast. The 30-year-old superstar was hit by a pitch with two outs in the second inning and swiped second base, but the Dodgers were unable to cash him in. He then crushed a two-out triple off of Bryse Wilson in the sixth inning but was stranded there. Ohtani also crushed a 430-foot (109.9 mph EV) solo shot off of Bryan Hudson in the eighth inning that extended the Dodgers’ lead to 5-3. He finished the night 2-for-2 officially and is now hitting .316/.402/.643 with 28 homers, 65 RBI and 18 stolen bases on the season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:16 pm

    • Getting breather Saturday
Moreno is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against San Diego.

Advice: Moreno had started in four straight games since being activated from the injured list and will yield to Jose Herrera behind the dish Saturday. Moreno owns a .714 OPS and a 15.3 percent K-rate across 235 plate appearances this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:03 pm
    • Julio Rodríguez will undergo MRI on injured quad
Julio Rodríguez is scheduled to undergo an MRI exam after leaving Saturday’s game against the Blue Jays in the first inning due to discomfort in his lower right quad area.

Advice: The 23-year-old outfielder looked uncomfortable while tracking a fly ball in the outfield during the top half of the first inning, then he was replaced by Ty France before he had a chance to take his first at-bat. The Mariners should have the results of his imaging before Sunday’s game, so expect another update on his status before then. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:38 pm

    • Dealing with quad issue
Mariners manager Scott Servais said that Rodriguez was removed in the second inning of Saturday's 5-4 loss to the Blue Jays with discomfort in his lower right quadricep and will undergo an MRI, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

Advice: An explanation for Rodriguez's early removal wasn't immediately provided Saturday, but Servais shed more light on the matter after the game. The extent of Rodriguez's injury is still unknown, however, so the results of his MRI will be more telling. Rodriguez can be viewed as day-to-day heading into Sunday's series finale before the Mariners provide another update on his status. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:35 pm
