    • Ezequiel Tovar homers twice against A’s
Ezequiel Tovar hit a pair of solo homers Tuesday in a losing cause against the A’s.

Advice: In spite of his willingness to swing at anything and everything, Tovar has managed to hit .279/.313/.468 this season. His second homer today, projected at 443 feet, was the second longest of his career and easily the longest among those to come away from Coors Field. He’s actually hit 14 of his 23 career homers on the road, though his batting average is far better at home (.287 to .229). Rotoworld 29 minutes ago

    • Records 15th steal
Acuna went 0-for-4 with a walk and a stolen base in Tuesday's 4-3 extra-inning loss to the Cubs.

Advice: The steal was Acuna's first since May 4, an unusually long drought without a theft for the speedy outfielder. He was caught on his only attempt over 12 games between steals. Acuna has struggled to get into a rhythm at the plate this season, slashing .247/.355/.351 with three home runs, 12 RBI, 36 runs scored and 15 steals over 203 plate appearances. Some regression from last year's 41-homer, 73-steal campaign was to be expected in 2024, but Acuna's career-low .706 OPS so far has been a brutal over-correction of his fortune. • Stays hot Tuesday
Keith went 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI in Tuesday's 10-3 loss to the Royals.

Advice: While the Tigers struggled as a team, Keith continued to roll. The rookie is batting a robust .441 over his last 10 contests and he's recorded three or more hits in a game three times already this month. Keith came into May batting just .154 but he's pushed that up to .230, and the 22-year-old has a prospect pedigree that suggests he'll be able to sustain this level of play. • Logan Webb let down by bullpen on Tuesday
Logan Webb allowed two runs on six hits in six innings in a no-decision against the Pirates on Tuesday.

Advice: Webb left the game with a 5-2 lead and watched as the Giants blew a 6-2 lead in the bottom of the ninth before losing in extra innings. Webb went back to a change-up-heavy approach on Tuesday, registering just a 17 percent whiff rate but a 28 percent CSW. However, he also allowed an average exit velocity on contact of 96.7 mph and allowed 11 hard-hit baseballs. Lucky for him, just one of those went for extra bases and he was able to lower his ERA to 3.03 on the year. He has a solid start lined up against the Mets this weekend. Rotoworld Today, 7:14 pm
    • Nolan Jones dealing with right knee soreness
Nolan Jones (back) has paused a minor league rehab assignment with Triple-A Albuquerque due to right knee soreness.

Advice: Jones underwent a precautionary MRI that came back clean, but will still have his rehab assignment paused for at least a few days to rest and recover before getting back into game action. The 26-year-old slugger has been on the shelf since late April due to a lower back strain after slashing a lackluster .170/.243/.277 with one homer and two steals in 26 contests. • Rehab halted
Jones (back) has had his rehab assignment at Triple-A Albuquerque paused because of right knee soreness stemming from a slide, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.

Advice: A MRI came back clean for Jones, who hasn't played for Albuquerque since Friday. The outfielder was placed on the 10-day injured list April 30 with a lower-back strain and had just started his rehab assignment Wednesday. It seemed like the 26-year-old was nearing a return and was trending toward being activated after Albuquerque's game Sunday, but this latest development scuttled that timeline. • Activated Tuesday
McCormick (hamstring) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list Tuesday, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

Advice: McCormick has missed all of May with hamstring soreness, but he'll return to the active roster after a six-game rehab stint. The 29-year-old went 5-for-23 with a pair of doubles and a stolen base in the minors. While McCormick should end up as the Astros' starting left fielder, he's likely to split time with Joey Loperfido and could see more DH work considering the fragility of a hamstring injury. • Astros active Chas McCormick (hamstring) off IL
Astros activated OF Chas McCormick off the 10-day injured list.

Advice: Trey Cabbage was optioned to Triple-A in the corresponding transaction. McCormick missed three weeks with his right hamstring strain. The outfielder should get a chance to play, but Houston does have a bit of an outfield jam with Joey Loperfido and Jake Meyers also likely to see time for Houston. Rotoworld Today, 12:06 pm

    • Taking seat against southpaw
Julien is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Nationals.

Advice: Julien will yield to Kyle Farmer at second base with lefty Patrick Corbin on the mound for the Nationals. Julien is 0-for-12 with five strikeouts since Wednesday. Rotowire.com Today, 11:31 am
