      The Athletic’s Dennis Lin and Ken Rosenthal report the Padres have shown strong interest in trade discussions for White Sox left-hander Garrett Crochet.

      Advice: Here we go. No word on how close a potential deal may be, but it’s worth noting the two sides struck a deal a few months ago centered around White Sox ace Dylan Cease and appear to be circling another potential blockbuster.       Tyler O’Neill (knee) will start a rehab assignment Tuesday with Triple-A Worcester.

      Advice: If that game goes well, Red Sox manager Alex Cora told reporters that O’Neill could be activated off the injured list prior to Wednesday’s game against Atlanta. There’s also a chance they could wait one more day if they feel the outfielder needs a little more time, but either way, the activation is close. It’d be a significant return for the Red Sox, especially after Wilyer Abreu was placed on the injured list with his ankle sprain. During that span, he's boosted his season OPS from .663 to .739 through 214 total plate appearances.
