      Advice: The right-hander was cruising through four innings, but San Diego erupted for all nine of its runs in the fifth before Boston's pitching staff was able to secure an out. Pivetta served up a two-run homer to Kyle Higashioka to begin that offensive outburst, and he's been taken deep five times in his last three starts, stumbling to a 6.46 ERA and 1.63 WHIP over that stretch despite a 13:3 K:BB in 15.1 innings. He never appeared in a rehab game with one of Arizona's minor-league affiliates, though he did throw a handful of simulated games, reaching 67 pitches in his most recent session Monday. It's unclear if the 28-year-old righty will be operating under a pitch/innings restriction during his first start back, but he will certainly have a favorable matchup against an Oakland offense that ranks 28th in MLB in runs scored (305).       Advice: Doval gets the win because the stat is flawless and baseball is a fair and just sport. The right-hander gave up a triple to James Outman, and a sac fly from Jason Heyward tied the game at 3-3.       Logan Webb gave up two runs in seven innings against the Dodgers on Friday while not qualifying for a decision.

      Advice: Webb threw 62-of-93 pitches for strikes while walking three and fanning six. The right-hander gave up both runs in the fifth, and outside of that frame he was brilliant while lowering his ERA to 3.12 on the campaign. Webb isn’t immune to clunkers, but he’s been one of the best starting options in baseball since 2021. You already knew that, but it’s a good reminder.       Advice: It was another strong outing for Knack, but the Dodgers pulled the right-hander after he gave up a solo homer in the fifth to Luis Matos. The right-hander allowed four other hits — five total — while not issuing a walk. Lack has given up just one earned run over his two starts since being called up, and his ERA as a member of the Dodgers in 2024 is a strong 2.08.       Advice: Ober wasn’t as good as he was in his complete game against Oakland, but it was another pretty strong outing. The right-hander’s only run allowed shouldn’t have happened, as Christian Vazquez couldn’t hold onto a ball that would have had Mitch Haniger out by about 15 feet if it doesn’t get by him.
